Question edited for clarity. Question moved to model category. Disconnecting the battery is never a good idea as it breaks the code paring between the key, the BCM / ECM and Immobilizer Module. Always charge a car battery in the car without removing it. Even a dead battery has enough volts to keep the ECM / BCM programming alive. Have all the keys done at the same time. If you only have one key, have another chip key cut and programmed. You don't mention a second key, and we get so many people here who lose their only key and ask how to bypass and hot-wire. The answer to that is "you can't". What does code P0513 mean? The OBD-II code P0513 stands for 'incorrect immobilizer key. ' The code activates when the PCM fails to recognize the immobilizer key (ignition key) despite detecting its presence.
