I would just about bet a weak fuel pump. With a scan tool connected you can monitor your fuel pressure thru live data. Low fuel pressure will not set a check engine light except if the O2 sensors register a lean condition.

Your better off finding the cause of the issue. Modern cars have so many sensors and electronics 'bypassing' electrics will become a Huge headache and put a massive dent in your bank account if it goes wrong! Have you had the battery "Load Tested"? This is where they put a heavy voltage drain on it and see how it copes with it. How old is the battery? A battery can still hold 12 volt but be weak when it's got to supply power to high drain parts like the starter motor. Generally batteries are considered 'Old' when they are over 5 years old, especially on bigger and higher mileage engines. The fuel pump relay should get power as soon as you turn the ignition to the second position so it can prime the fuel system before you start the engine. I've posted an answer to your Fuel pressure test question and in the video I've attached he shows you a quick "cheat" to test if it's the relay.

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu with the L4-2.5L engine does not have a 'typical' fuel pressure regulator. This vehicle has a fuel regulator valve (same function, just 'smarter' than a regulator). The pressure relief regulator valve replaces the typical fuel pressure regulator used on a mechanical returnless fuel system. Output drivers in the ECM provide the pump control circuit with a 12?V pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal, which regulates fuel pressure by closing and opening the control valve at specific times during pump strokes. Thanks for the information about checking transmission fluid. Unfortunately we don't get Notifications when they are made up there. I was hoping that @Jeff Armer would take the question. He is a full time auto electronics tech and just the person you need. I am guessing he didn't get a notification either. The image is difficult to read even zooming in on my computer, but you have multiple communications and voltage errors and guessing the problem one is to the Body Control Module, but you have multiple errors. That means when the computers tell the transmission solenoids to move it doesn't happen. An auto electrician with a professional grade bi-directional scan tool computer can command transmission solenoids to operate and verify that they did. That would be the starting point. On left hand side of the steering wheel you have a manual light switch that controls the dash lights for dim and brighter by turning the switch right or left, or you will have a wheel like switch next to it which could be the control that goes up to brighten and down to dim. Either type is a rheostat type switch, to lower the lights it decreases the current to brighten the lights the current is increased. if the contacts are worn or dirty it could interfere with the current control. Sometimes you can just go from left to right or up and down and clean the contacts to work. Other wise it time to replace the switch

Did you test the exhaust back pressure ? 1 to 1/2 pounds are normal readings of the pressure. Could be clogged catalytic converter need an exhaust backpressure test. Valves intermittent valve problem, broken rocker, push rod. Thanks MEGABUCK

These vehicles were known for faulty hazard switches.
