not S10 dead hv coil means input to coil is dead. on this car, 1996 we look at the distributor wiring ,et al. to know what's up with that. and fuses tops the list all EFI AND spark fuses. and ecu.(VCM) the VSM needs 5 good fuses !!! #4,5,9,10,12 then learn to scan the VCM on any 96 or newer USA car it has the new the OBD2 scan port (16pin) just like now. see DTC errors cranked, p03xx errors are all that. CMP error , CKP errors end spark for sure. crank sensor or cam senors, 3 wire HALL sensors and there and the best kind is HALL. the VCM (ecu/pcm) fires the spark control modlen and it the HV coil. if CMP and CKP are not dead. crank for 10second (release not off) and release. if either 2 sensor fail now the scan tool tells you so.. DTC p03xx code errors. cam must spin, and not be timed by kids.(or hold my beer)

• bad fuses (x5)
• bad cmp/ckkp (dead cam timed all wrong)
• bad spark control module
• bad HV coil
• bad wires to all this. page. of listed things.
• bad VCM (if obd2 fails consider this, if no COMMS)
• rusty or loose connectors

is CEL/MIL/SES lamp in cluster dead it must glow keyon. or lamp dead, vcm dead or fuse to ecu x5 dead. hint1,use modern scan too, not one from 1996 era many the only did 1 or 3 uSA cars then, (lack of 3 ports is why) all; modern tools work here, 2005 year up

Sounds like your solenoid is going bad... easy fix..

the other wire that is "dead" is the ground wire for the fuel pump. try cutting that wire after the connector towards the pump, and running it to a good clean ground.

May have been water or debris pulled into the injectors from running low on fuel . I would run it on some short local runs and a few fullness throttle bursts and see how she does . My favorite Chevy and a beautiful car .

i had the same problem and it's almost impossible to open it with out being able to "open it" I had to bend out the back material on the hatch reach my hands in and dig around with my fingers untill i found the 'trigger" to open the hatch it took a long long time, I then could open the hatch and the bottom as well and ther on the side of the hatch it the screws to get to the "trigger" to open the hatch?????? I then put together the broken parts and now it work (with the help of some wire). It hurt my hand but didn't cost me anything to fix but my time and some wire, not sure if yours is the same problem but if you can hear the mechanics work when you push the hatch to open try it

First start with a scanner and see what codes are recorded. You may have a communication link problem.

This is a sensor issue. It can be from a couple of different sensors. The VSS, or vehicle speed sensor is the main one. Loose or faulty wiring can cause it, a faulty PCM can cause it, or the Throttle Position Sensor can cause it.

Personally I would suspect timing chain or crankshaft sprocket key.

Yes there would be a welsh plug in that area and it is probably rusted out.

What car is this on. There is NOT a BCM in a 2001 chevy s10 blazer.

Once you fix the part, you need a Code Reader / Scan Tool / Scan Tool Computer to reset the code and remove it. If you already did that, you need an auto-electrician with a Pro Grade Scan Tool.

my 97 burban has a dome override button next to light switch that does the same things you discribed look for it and push it if you have one its labeled

Is the engine light on? If so you can hook it to a computer, if there's an auto zone close to you they will do it for you free of charge. I also recommend, laying under the vehicle and banging on your fuel tank with a hammer while someone else is trying to start it. It sounds odd I know but I think it may be your fuel pump, if it starts while your banging on it then it 100% is your fuel pump!Just a side note, I also had a 2000 Blazer and this happened to me a lot! So I'm suggesting this from experience. Chevy blazers are known for this issue.

sounds like a blown fuse, open drivers door and look at side of dash, fuse panel is there check fuses

The easy way to open the glass without tearing up the tailgate panel or ripping out your carpet: Pull back the interior tailgate panel right above the bump in the middle where the latch is. There are no screws or bolts in that area, so it should pull away about 2 inches. Then you'll have to reach in and push down the release bar. You should be able to feel for the part that needs to be pushed down to release the glass. Now that it is unlocked, you will be able to open the hatch and the tailgate. Once open, remove the interior tailgate panel, which has one screw on each side. The failed actuator that needs to be replaced is not all that expensive and can be found at the dealer.

No there isn't. The Body Control Module (BCM) takes care of that. Check the grounds that are near the rear light, but you will need a good auto-electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer to check the BCM functions. Here is your Fuses and Relays.
