1999 Buick Regal LS. Lost Overdrive. Changed filter no help. Can be forced into OD if I get the RPM'S up over 3000. 170,000+ on it. 4T65E transmission. Is there a quick fix for this?
P1811 is for maximum shift adaptation and long shift detected.
The possible causes are long -
clogged transmission filter
cut seal on transmission filter
low or burnt fluid
1-2 accumulator faulty
2-3 accumulator faulty
3-4 accumulator faulty
valve body spacer plate damaged
pressure regulating solenoid damaged
pressure regulating valve damaged
fluid pump faulty
restriction in hydraulics of transmission
1,2 or 3 clutch damaged
forward band burned or broken
torque converter clutch broken
The first step is to check line pressures with scan tool and transmission pressure gage, then with scan tool test the pressure solenoid. If pressures are low and pressure solenoid test good, then transmission is pulled and torn down to inspect and repair as needed, which is usually a complete rebuild in this case.

How do u change aa distributer
Okay, for starters you're going to need a Phillips screwdriver, now you have to put each wire on the right terminal.First identify the proper orientation of the cap, it only goes one way, look for the tag on the cap that must fit into the notch in the housing align the old and the new caps remove the wires one by one from the old cap to the new cap then use the screwdriver to turn each of the four retaining lugs you must push down the screwdriver and turn them CCW about a quarter to a half turn the app should come off the rotor is there underneath remove the two screws and install the new rotor it only goes one way. Put the cap on making sure it fits into the notch. The lugs should go back in easily if the cap is on right way, if not you would have to feel for it. Good luck..... ????

How do I figure out what's causing a P0455 code? I had the purge valve and gas cap replaced.
DTC P0455: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak
Circuit/System Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a large leak. The PCM monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the EVAP system vacuum level. When the conditions for running are met, the PCM commands the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve OPEN and the EVAP vent solenoid valve CLOSED . This allows engine vacuum to enter the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the PCM commands the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve closed, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum level. The following table illustrates the relationship between the ON and OFF states, and the OPEN or CLOSED states of the EVAP canister purge and vent solenoid valves.
The red X by the 02 sensor on your scan tool has nothing to do with.
You had the gas cap and the purge valve replaced, how about the vent valve under the back of the car. These go bad, cause large leaks. Also check the fuel fill tube, they like to rust out causing large leaks. If all that is good you may won't to it to a repair shop an have it smoke tested.
2006 buick lucerne 4.6l fuel filter location
The 2006 Buick Lucerne with a 4.6L engine does not have a traditional serviceable fuel filter that is easily accessible and replaceable like some older vehicles. Instead, the fuel filter is integrated into the fuel sender assembly, which is located inside the fuel tank. This design is common in many modern vehicles, where the fuel filter is not intended for routine maintenance and is expected to last the life of the vehicle.
If you suspect a fuel system issue or a clogged fuel filter, it's recommended to consult your vehicle's service manual or contact a Buick dealership for guidance. In some cases, if there are symptoms of fuel system problems, such as poor performance or hesitation, it may be necessary to perform a diagnostic scan using specialized tools to identify and address the issue.
If you are not experienced with working on fuel systems or if you are uncertain about the location and replacement procedure of the fuel filter in your Buick Lucerne, it's advisable to seek professional assistance. A qualified mechanic or Buick service technician can provide accurate information and perform any necessary repairs or diagnostics.
2005 Buick Century whining on starting, whining increases climbing hills.
Try taking the belt off and starting the engine. If it is something in the accesory system, the whine will go away without the belt. If it is still there you know it is something in the engine. If it does go away you can then spin and feel the bearings in the tensioner and idler puleys to find the source of your noise.
2004 Buick Rainier. Where is the thermostat located on it please?
The thermostat on a 2004 Buick Rainier is located under the housing that connects the large radiator hose to the engine block. You will need to remove the cap that is held on with 2 or 3 bolts to access itI think this is on the passenger side but some diagrams have it on the other side.
