1st,pick out choice swear words! next, remove air filter, then there are two phillip head screws holding the cap on.( they are also a small hex about a 1/4 " or 5/16th.) if they haven't been removed in a long time , be careful not to break them off! I have found that a 1/4" drive with that flexable cable extention works best for the rear screw, which is the bad boy to get at. mark your wires if you don't know how to do the firing order.good luck Bill

If sometime works fine and sometime not I would suspect a bad/loose wire connection. This is not likely but is a possibility, It may seem odd but car voltage can effect the electronic in a car. I would say while the car is running check the voltage at the battery. It should be showing over 13.7V because with the car running it will be reading the voltage put out by the alternator. Depending on the vehicle I have seen them put out 13.7 to over 15 volts.

GM doesn't use fuel pump cutoff switches. That's a Ford thing. The only GM safety for the fuel pump is the oil pressure switch.

Has anyone tested the new temp unit to make sure it's functioning properly? Or is their possibly a mechanical thermostat in it that's hung and needs to be replaced?

The high pressure line is the one usually with a metal tube attached to the hose at the pump end. The return line usually just connects to the pump with the hose and a clamp.
