4wheeldrive wont go off. only have power to motor when 4wheel drive is activated. have no reverse polarity to disangage 4wheel drive. found motor wire wore through to frame blowing fuse causing quad to shut off. repaired wire and this problem happened. could it be that relay next to the 4x4 motor? 2003 suzuki vinson 4x4 500.

Check the battery terminals for connection. Check the fuse box to see if power is getting to the fuses. Check to see if the starter is getting power from the ignition switch. Make sure the shifter is in N. Move the shifter back and forth while having the key in the start position.

could be a bad front differential 500 on ebay
or possibly related to the no pwer to ins cluster.

fix the cluster first and see what happens.
red wire for power to the cluster wiring harness and connectors

could be disconnected or unplugged or rusted connection causing both issues

u joint broke ? splines on d shaft stripped out ?

Faulty switch or engagement solenoid.

check fuses and wires --check for power from switch to actuator it power than remove actuator and observe action sometimes stick lube actuator if sticking if not moving than actuator failure

There is a good possibility that your main fuse is blown. The main fuse is located on the solenoid. There also should be a spare fuse that is stored on the solenoid, however, if it's blown, something has shorted to cause this, and needs to be found. An important note, if the battery has been hooked up with the polarity reversed, that will blow the main fuse.

There's also a possibility of a bad connection at that fuse, or in the plug that connects the solenoid to the harness. If this is the case, it would just need a little cleaning, or replacement of the whole solenoid.

The front end works off 12volts.If you have moisture in your dash your dash may not let your 4 wheel drive work and it could also not let your atv start if it doesn;t every start unplug your dash but your dash has to work to have 4 wheel drive.

Mine keeps doing that too have you found a fix yet
