My 2006 kymco 250 mongoose quit while riding. neutral light does not come on with transmission in neutral, atv will not start. Any ideas

try tapping on the starter it may be in a bind if it still does nothing then change the solenoid

Sounds as though you may have a prob with the safety lockout switch at trans=either power up to or switch itself. Will prevent power going to ignition system hence nil start.

SOURCE: was riding and just quit running cant get spark

This is the order in which you should check the following

1. Check fuses(If all are good,Continue down the list)
2. Check for power from the stator while turning the engine over(If you have power continue down the list)
3. Check coil (Check voltage input while turning engine over)(if no voltage continue down the list)
4. Check CDI (The only way to test is to try on another atv of the same year and model)

my boyfriend and I had a similar problem with our viva four wheeler;
we replaced one of the fuse holders and haven't had problem since! =]

make sure that your battery terminals are clean and are making good connection, sometimes when alot of mud builds up on my bikes battery it wont start also try to start it by the recoil is it has one or the kick start cuz when the battery is dead and you stuck in the trails you can start it by this and it should start
