Sounds like you may have a problem with the float valve in your carberator. If it's stuck open, even when the engine isn't running gas could be building up in the carb because your carb float valve isn't limiting it. And if it's building up and filling the carb, then it will eventually drop into the engine and subsequent oil pan. Look for signs of excess wet gas in the airboxin. That's a sign something in the carb isn't regulating the gas right.

Best to stop off at a dealer and have them look at the chain. The last thing you need is for the chain to lock up around the sprocket and sending you into an uncontrolled spin into oncoming traffic.

2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 back fires and kills. This happens on full throttle. What could could be the issue?

The high speed jet isn't rich enough or the carb passages needs to be cleaned. You can move the clip down one spot on the needle so it gets more gas, this will also give you more power at the top end.

Gas in oil pan

sounds like the float in the carburetor or needle valve is failing and gas fills up the bowl, rides down the cylinder and into the oil pan.
Do you notice gas pouring out into the air cleaner?
