What year ? 1999 should be 15 to 20 mm intake on exh 18 to 23 mm i think depending on year. they run tight. adj at tdc on comp stroke with valves open far as they can. have to rotate eng for each valve to open fully and independently one opens and other closes at same time. should be very quiet if adj correctly.adj the closed valve only when fully closed
SOURCE: Just wanted to determine, for a Kawasaki bayou
The valve is open when the lever and valve are parallel. Generally that is down. When the lever is pointing across the valve it is closed. Think T vs. I. If the lever and valve cross it's closed, if they go the same way it's open.
That applies to a two position valve, if your Bayou has a reserve postion it could be different. That would be three positions and across one way would be open, down would be reserve, and across the other way would be closed. Should be marked on the petcock if that is the case.
SOURCE: how do i set valves on a bayou 220
remove spark plug rotate motor to top dead center comp. stroke. and adjust valve tappets to. .10mm intake and .15mm exhaust.
SOURCE: no key for our kawasaki bayou 220
On the Bayou 220 you have 2 wires from the Ignition Switch. If I was you I would wire them 2 to a toogle switch or push bottom start.
