First check the positive cable at battery and at the starter relay that the positive wire usually goes to. Somewhere right around there should be a fuse - that fuse goes out and your ignition system is kaput - pull start or nothing. If nothing at all happens - more than likely your fuse or what...yamaha had them on a lot of the 90s - 00s bikes - it was called a starter cut-off relay - it was a small black box wired in right by the postive cable where it goes to starter relay. Also check your ground cable at battery and where it goes to engine, usually. if all that checks out - let me know your year, make & model and if I have the tech info I can tell you where to start and how to troubleshoot - all the best

2007 Yamaha 350 4x4. Tried to use winch. Now, why doesn't it start?

Hello. It seems the winch on your Yamaha 'strained' its electrical system; 'fried' wires including the 'starter circuit' wiring. It's possible there is a 'blown' relay and/or fuse somewhere. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

I have a 2013 Kawasaki Teryx and I went to move it. The lights came on for a split second and then everything shut off. The headlights and the winch work, but nothing else.

Sounds like a short or one of main sensors is burned out.. Mite get a voltage meter and see if your getting
Power or not. Go to google Image and get the schematics of the main wiring
Systems and go threw it piece by piece.
Or you mite just have a main fuse blown. Get the schematics and check
Each system good luck.

My 2010 Polaris Ranger 400 has no power.

My Polaris 500 started quitting on me. It turned out to be corrosion on the left handle bar kill switch wiring. After repairing, I pulled apart many wiring connectors and filled them with dielectric (does not conduct electricity) grease to make them resistant to water and corrosion.

My 1997 kawasaki 400 pirarie will not show any sign of life when i turn the key like No lights to neatrul light nothing only thing that will work is my winch any suggestions?

Look for a fuse where the postive cable comes from the battery going to the starter relay - this fuse (like a 10 or 15 amp box fuse) allows all the electrical to basically go to the bike. When it blows - no ignition, but the bike will usually pull start. - Your winch is probably still working because usually - it's hooked up straight to your battery. if that's not it - let me know and I can help you troubleshoot it - all the best

2003 polaris 330 won't stay running with lights on

charge system fault
could be the charger ( alternator) voltage regulator or loose wires
indicates not enough power to run the ignition system when the head light is turned on

Was installing a winch on my 2009 prowler 700 xtx hooked positive cable to selanoid winch did not work, hooked direct to battery, works, rig wont start

Where did you ground the winch motor? You need a separate, heavy duty, switch with a relay to transfer the positive side voltage properly... DO NOT ground to the battery..use a clean, free of paint, place to ground. You may have fried the solenoid..do not connect the positive side to the solenoid. Direct connection to the + battery from the relay is good with a good waterproof fuse in line. Sometimes I have seen the "maint. free" batteries die when used "wrong" and still show 13 volts+.
