Carb not working properley

A couple of suggestions: Make sure that the gasket seal is good between carb and engine. I had a similar problem with my Cat 500 and found that the choke was sticking. I sprayed down the carb with Gunk and made sure all moving parts were not hanging up. I also put anti fogging oil in the gas to help clean jets and ports hard to clean with a carb rebuild.

Make sure your carb. mounting flange isnt ripped allowing air to get in.

Check valve clearances. Gas coming out back of carb could be compression

try cleaning the carb.

hi, sounds like a stuck float in your carb. Try tapping the carb briskly! sounds like gas is slowly dripping in the bowl overnight and you burn it the next day. I would take the bowl off and see how much gas pours out. It should come out like a light stream of pee. Could be cloged fuel filter or a gumed up or broken float, carb rebuild kits are cheap.

its prob a vacuum petcock, not a pump. they're a pita sometimes. you can rig them so they work all the time by opening them and fudging the valve (or buy a new one, cheap on ebay). choke should extend when it gets hot. you can test it with 12 volts. will extend and block the choke.

could be the crank seals.
