Typically reverse is much more common on ATVs that are made for work, not really ones just for playing with (just one more thing to go wrong).

1. Place the transmission in first gear

2. Rotate the lockout switch forward to unlock reverse gear

3. Shift into reverse gear

When you shift back out of reverse gear, the lockout switch will reengage automatically to prevent accidental shifting into reverse

Chances are you have a transmission fluid delivery if an automatic, most reverse functions use a band style clutch and do not require a big amount of pressure to operate. I would look into a replacement Trans if an automatic.

One of your axles does not have a locked differential.

If you have a Honda Rubicon, you must place the transmission in Neutral, then pull in Left Hand brake and push down Reverse knob that will remove the reverse lockout and allow you to shift it into reverse. If that doesn't work your reverse lockout knob might be defective or out of adjustment. The adjuster, depending on which model you have, will be on one end of the reverse lockout cable.

try this first right beside the reverse button u will see 2 sets of wires clipped into the control be careful and pull these 2 apart u will see they will be all corroded up clean them up and dielectric them see if that works its a easy fix maybe

I replaced the speed sensor, got my speedo operation back, no more intermittent 4x4 issues, and no more stalling in reverse! It's actually quite annoying how many things are tied into that one sensor. Makes for a frustrating trip out of the bush if it starts acting up on the trail (like mine did).
