fuel flow problem
could be low float level , blocked fuel lines , blocked fuel tap, blocked filter at the tap in the tank
it indicates that the fuel level in the carby is high enough to start but then drops down as the fuel is not being replaced quick enough--
that in turn makes it run lean and so the rpms goes up
the faster the rpm's the less fuel and so it stops
Verify that your getting spark, and carb may need cleaning?
electrical, and fuel systems on snowmobiles are sensitive, because they are exposed to winter weather....
What else are you expecting to come on with one click of the key? The only thing I can think that maybe would come on would be a light for the gear you're in or possibly the brake light?
