It appears that you have fuel venting problem or a float level set too high. Check the entire fuel system for kinked / blocked fuel lines/ filters and check the float level or fuel manifold pressure if it has one.

Fill it up with premium gas, change the plugs, and run some sea foam through it. It will blow smoke after you add the sea foam and then clear up. That helps keep the varnish out of the carb (and unstick the choke etc.) and the high test gas will make it a lot easier to start and keep the plugs from fouling out as often. Also change/clean the air filter. This will give you optimal conditions for fuel air mixture and combustion. If you still have problems, go from there.
most likely a fuel issue. has it been sitting up ? if so if its got a carb it prob gummed up, pour some seafoam into the gas tank with fresh gas and run it, try and keep it running with the throttle, it might clear some varnish out the carb if it not too bad, if tht dont work and it is a carb engine then the carb will have to be removed and cleaned. if it a FI engine then you got a bad full pump more than likely
Does the cooling fan ever run when the engine is hot? If not, you may have a problem with the fan thermostat.
For the record, spray carburetor cleaner does no good if it's sprayed on the outside of the carburetor with the engine running. That's not what it's for.
Listen I have a 2009 EFI Polaris sportsman 500 it starts up goes fine down the road but sometimes it takes a fit an starts to bog out when it starts to do that all I do is shut the key off an back on real quick and it takes off again I'm really confused on what is making it do that because I changed the gas an air filter plus put a new spark plug in it also a new battery can anyone tell me what I could do to try an fix this problem it's got to be something easy because when it does that all I have to do is shut the key off an back on than it straightens up weird I know lol but please help me with some suggestions thanks
You could have a loose hose fitting or even a crack/split in hose. It sounds like it will be near top of tank. You might want to check make sure you put o-ring onto fuel line going into housing as well. I earnestly believe you will resolve problem by eliminating the above mentioned.
I have a 2004 700 carb that shut off while riding and then would start up 3-5 minutes later after many nights working on it Ifinally figured it out no help from any dealer. There are 2 circuit breakers under the front rack mine were very rusted, Replaced both never had the problem again. My situation was always only when the lights were on.
Hope this helps
