Either empty fuel from tank, or remove tank. With petcock in closed position, remove fuel line going to carb. Turn petcock (but if so configured) counterclockwise, until petcock becomes free from bottom of tank. You can buy and install a rebuild kit, or change assy if needed.
Hey Marty,
An internal combustion engine requires three things to run..(if all the internals are good)..
1. A properly timed spark.
2. Adequate compression (>120psi).
3. Proper air/fuel mixture.
Start by eliminating one of these at a time...(get a professional to clean and set the carb), install a new spark plug. Get a new fuel line.
I am not sure what you mean to "Reset" the carb
is it leaking? or flooding the engine out? need more info before I go into explaining how to rebuild the carb
You seem to have many problems with this ATV reading the different postings have you checked the compression on all 4 cylinders if so what were the readings ?
Go up 2 sizes on the pilot jet that's the little jet next to the main
but before you change sizes make sure that it's not plugged up hope this helps you
Hey Anon,, WHY are you needing to replace the carb?? In my 40+ years of being a motorcycle/atv mechanic, I have only replaced 3 carbs,,,and CLEANED and repaired HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS. reply to me on here.... I'll help you
