700 Yamaha Grizzly - won't start but was able to start it with ether. Runs fine and starts when hot. We have changed the battery, start solenoid changed and sparks check and they are good. Start solenoid flutters (starts on/off, on/off) and then eventually when start switch is depressed enough times the starter and solenoid will engage fully but very slow to crank at first. THen will pick up regular cranking speed. Any suggestions???

the floats in the carb are stuck. you can try lightly tapping on the carb with a screwdriver that should do the trick.

I would check the starter clutch its self first. It is a one way clutch so if you remove the starter and disassemble it to the starter clutch and hold the starter clutch in one hand and use your other hand to turn the starter clutch gear, it should only turn in one direction.

Drain and replace the gas with fresh.
Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the inlet. Work your throttle a little then put everything back together and try to start it.

We have a 2017 Yamaha Grizzly 700 and are having power issues. quad will not go over 50km/hr... why?

Sounds like a fuel obstruction, have you had the gas tank off for any reason? Have you been near the fuel lines or changed the filter? Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail near your injectors, it's a schrader valve which looks just a tire valve stem, check for pressure but use alleys/body protection measures.

Important, when did this happen and what went in directly before the problem started? Think hard!

2012 yamaha grizzly 700 new battery in just clicking noise showing error1

Just a couple wild guesses from 40+ years of experience...
1. the solenoid is bad.
2. the connections are not clean.

Make sure the ground wire from the battery is clean and tight to the frame.
Try jumping the two major solenoid connections with a HEAVY wire or (what most people use ( a screwdriver) and see if it starts...
If the engine turns over when you jump the connections, it means the solenoid is bad. If it does not you probably have bad connections at the battery + or - side.

When riding my 2011 Yamaha grizzly 700 about 1/2 throttle it shuts down and when I get in water or mud it like it loses power what would it be

Hi Curtis:
Considering the age of the machine I'd be looking at basic maintenance first. Things like air filter, fuel filter, carb condition, spark plugs, oil and oil filter change. Then start thinking about valve condition and clearances.

Flush the carb
Make sure you're using fresh gas
Clean or replace the fuel filter.

2009 grizzly 700 will only run when starter button is held display only works when trying to start it

The primary circuit has a ground connection so everything works... your secondary circuit doesn't have a solid ground. Go over all your ground connections carefully.
