How do I attach the Zebco 202 reel to the rod?
Zebco 202 has a foot projecting from the frame.....this is mated to the reel seat area on your rod and the knurled rings on the rod are tightened down over it to secure it for fishing.

Is first eye supposed to be off set
from what i can tell, yes and no. if you're using larger line then you can use a non-offset eye. but for smaller line the eye of offset as per the manual instructions which are still pretty vague
How do I remove the front cover from the zebco 33 reel???
I have a Zebco 33 reel. No one on this site can tell me how to get the front cover off. The only way
i know to get it off, is by putting it in my 20 ton press and crushing it. Who ever designed this reel should be shot. If the reel jams on the boat, just throw it in the water. It is not user friendly.

How do I get my zebco to retrieve the line
Your reel has pickup pins on the spool that will guide the line onto the spool when you reel in.
Try holding gentle tension on the slack line just above your reel and start reeling in. If this does not work then remove the top cover of the reel and look to see if the line is tangled up on the inside around the center shaft underneath the pickup pin cover.
if this is the case, simply unscrew the pickup pin cover from the center shaft. It will be on the tight. Remove the tangled line and reassemble.

That would depend on the rod, but usually either the front part of the hand grip can be unscrewed, or there is a screw under the rod that will loosen it.
The line will not release when I cast
I am assuming you know at least something about fishing with a baitcast reel. If you do not, make sure you release the thumb button when you cast.
Chances are your line is either tangled or dirty on the inside. Also, the longer the line sits on the spool, the "curlier" it becomes, making it more difficult to get a good cast. I would suggest replacing your line.
If that doesn't help, then its possible that the release pin isn't releasing when the button is released. If this is the case, it is probably time for a new reel. Zebco 33's are inexpensive, and not really worth the trouble to try and repair- better to just invest in a new one.
When releasing the thumb control to cast the line
you have to release the button after you start your cast, distance, height and length of cast is determined by where you release the button inside the forward arc of your cast, just like throwing a baseball.

Line jam above the spool
remove cover and spool, if rubber pressure disk is damaged and spool has warped it is not worth repairing, if not re assemble and replace line
