Have replaced lower drive belt on yard man 604G but now it won't move?
Lisa,
Wow! changing that belt is a chore. It's really hard to analize what's going on but are you sure you replaced all the idler springs? Cuz that can cause a loose belt where you won't be able to move.
Just a thought..was a MTD Rep for 27 years retired 15 years ago.
Here's their contact info... you can very likely get them to send via email a belt diagram to insure it's on correctly or communicate your'e issue and they will help you.

Get no voltage from selenoid to starter
Probably a safety switch, the ignition switch send electricity through a few safety switches on the way to the solenoid, neutral, brake on and deck off is what it is checking for .If you unplug the little wire on the solenoid and touch a wire from the pos + battery terminal of the battery to the spade on the solenoid it should turn over , and prove the solenoid is good or not.
Sat unused for 3years,new battery, oil change spark plug, air filter, started right up,battery some how died after trying to restart within 15 min.any ideas what might be happening
once the motor starts it would only draw from the battery for electric deck clutch if you have one or headlights if you have any. There will be a black wire coming out from under the flywheel, in that wire there will be a bumb half again bigger then wire only about 3/4 inch long, it is a diode covered with heat shrink , this allows for the electricity to come out of the charging system into the battery but not back the other way. So if the diode has gone bad and allowing the current to go both directions this might be your problem. charge your battery, start your mower, you will need a cheap ohm meter $10, with the tractor running full throttle touch the red test lead to positive + and black to neg, meter set at dc current it should read 13 to 15 volts when engine is shut off it should be 12+ volt if it is under that say 11 volt you have a draw some where,
