Yamaha Malta outboard won't idle

Hey Frank, has anything happened to this outboard? It might just be time for new spark plugs..if it is not running well, it might be time for a carb clean and set. ..no biggie.

Yamaha 115 4 stroke alarm sounds when boat is in neutral. forward or reverse no alarm. oil is good and water out of the spout.

Which alarm is sounding? Oil or overheating? You need to figure this out first! ... Is the water coming out of the spout high pressure or can you hold your finger over it and stop the flow? If you can stop the flow, you have a bad water pump impeller. If not... you are probably getting good water pressure. If your oil tank is full, the low level sensor is dirty or bad..this will cause the alarm..Fix each of these and repost.

I have a 1994 Yamaha 40 horsepower 2-stroke outboard motor turns over won't start doesn't seem like it's getting gas change the fuel line any other suggestions

Try removing a spark plug and make sure you are getting spark. If there is spark put a couple tablespoons of premixed fuel directly into the cylinder before putting the plug back in. It should fire right up, and hopefully will speed up the priming of the fuel system. Hope this is of some help to ya, good luck.

I have a 2001 Yamaha gp800r It sat for a year before I decided to rebuild the engine.now I have 140psi in each cylinder but I have weak spark. it has a new battery and plugs.i didn't have this issue

Well you have a few options here to try and fix this issue. First I would check the kill switch boot and make sure that its still intact. If not then the kill switch is the problem. Second thing is checking all the fuses Third if all checks out ok, your going to want to run a few tests on your CDI. Once you open the front cover, there are two wires a black and a white. your going to want to disconnect those and then check spark or start. If spark/runs then its your kill switch if that does not work your going to want to get a manual and a OHM/multi meter and test your CDI I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_677dced97ad9bddf

My Yamaha Outboard 115hp 1994

Not enough information, but there are two things I didn't read about you checking. Make sure the fuel quick connection on the engine (and possibly the fuel tank) is locked all the way in first, Then see if your fuel pump is working. Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and, holding it in a gas can, have someone turn on the ignition. If It's an electric pump, it should start running fuel, if mechanical, they'll have to crank it a little to get fuel going. If you get plenty of fuel that way, your float in the carb could have gotten stuck, or something in the line got into it.

Looking to repower 1997 Four Winns bowrider with newer outboard engine. What max HP is boat rated for? Found Yamaha 150 XB 2016 for a good price . Will boat work with a 25 inch shaft? Thanks,Kathy

there should be a manufacturers plate attached to the hull of the boat with a number of passengers it can carry and the max hp motor allowed to be fitted talk with boat shops as they will know the approximate hp for each make of boat and length while it may be attractive to fit big hp motors to small boats , it in fact makes the boat less sea worthy and makes capsizing easier so get the advice right from the boat shops
