Yamaha RX-A1010 will not turn on anymore after a power outage
1st I would check to make sure that the outlet has power by using something other than your receiver to test it. Then turn your receiver to the backside and see if there is a reset breaker on the backside. Also make sure your receiver is plug directly into the outlet. If it still fails you might have a blown a fuse some receivers may have a barrel type of fuse holder that you can turn the cap till it spins off and you can replace the fuse but be sure to match it with the same exact kind with the numbers that the fuse is labeled with. But if your receiver doesn't have any type of fuse holder then you might have to open its case. If you think you could handle the next step then continue reading . Once you unplug the receiver and removed all the screws which hold the case usually are under and on the backside where you would connect all your inputs. Looking inside your gonna be looking for a small tube glass with silver chrome caps at the ends . If you know what they are you can test them with a volt meter or if you can visually see that the string or flat metal looking bar inside fuse broken. If it is than replace with the same info as I said before in my answer. If it's still looks good then you can test for further area like the switch point but before you do that please know your way around a circuit board because you can seriously get hurt otherwise bring it in to a service center. Good luck
How to hook up subwoofer for yamaha RX-496 2channels receiver
You need to connect the subwoofer to your receiver using the speaker wire connections on the rear of the receiver. Take the speaker input from the subwoofer to the A or B speaker terminals on the rear of the AV receiver. Then take the speaker outputs from the sub and connect to the main speaker terminals. Really you need to buy a receiver with a sub out to do it properly. Sell this one and buy another.
Htr 5630 shut off in 2 sec.
Sounds like you have a bad amp IC or transistors.
When these go bad they almost always put roughly 40 volts dc from the amp power supply to the speaker terminals. The protection circuit senses this dangerous (to your speakers) dc voltage and disconnects the speaker terminals from the amp via internal relays (the ones you hear click) and puts it into protect mode. If it didn't the dc voltage would quickly toast the voice coils of the connected speaker.
Yamaha RX-V773 receiver takes long time to warm up before I get sound. The time has increased to over 10 minutes. Any ideas what could be wrong
Hi. I have rxv773 and it had the same problem. If u turn it on and after reley clicking 2 times fast and 1 time after about 8 seconds, look at the display if you see speaker ikons. If u don't see them and there is no sound. You wait those 10 minutes when sound comes back and look if the icons apear at the same time you got sound. If that is the case, you have bad DSP chip inside on the hdmi board. You could open the yamaha cover and see it right away on the top board at the right side. The chip is D80YK113CPTP4. That is the bad one. If you apply a heat for about 20 to 30 seconds with the heat gun at medium settings, you could fix the problem for a day or two or maybe a month. You need to replace the chip with newer one D80YK113DPTP4 . That dptp4 is updatet chip from cptp4. You can find those on aliexpress.
