How to plug the ais on a 2001 Yamaha vstar 650

If your Yamaha Vstar 650 is backfiring when decelerating, it could be due to a lean fuel mixture or an air leak. One solution is to adjust the air/fuel mixture screw on the carburetor, but before doing that, it's recommended to check and address the following:
  1. Inspect the exhaust system: Make sure there are no holes, leaks, or loose connections in the exhaust system. Fix any issues if found.
  2. Check for air leaks: Inspect the intake manifold and carburetor boot for any cracks, loose connections, or air leaks. If you find any, fix them and ensure a tight seal.
  3. Clean or replace the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can affect the air/fuel mixture. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary.
  4. Check carburetor jets: If the bike has been sitting for a while or the carburetor hasn't been cleaned in a long time, there might be debris or clogs in the jets. Remove and clean the carburetor jets.
  5. Adjust the air/fuel mixture: Locate the air/fuel mixture screw on the side of the carburetor. Gradually turn it clockwise or counterclockwise (usually clockwise) until the backfiring reduces or stops. Start with small adjustments, and make note of the screw's original position in case you need to revert the changes.
  6. If the backfiring persists, it is recommended to consult a motorcycle mechanic or Yamaha dealership for further diagnosis and assistance.

2005 model 650. It idles OK but why does it lose power when I get (to) about 1/4 throttle and only gets to 50 mph?

If your 2005 model 650 motorcycle is experiencing a loss of power and struggles to go beyond 50 mph when you reach about 1/4 throttle, there could be several potential reasons for this issue. It's important to identify the underlying problem to resolve the performance concern. Here are some common causes to consider:
  1. Fuel System Issues: Insufficient fuel supply or a clogged fuel filter can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine, leading to a loss of power. Check the fuel filter, fuel pump, and ensure the fuel lines are clear and not kinked.
  2. Air Intake Blockage: A blocked air filter or a clogged air intake system can limit the amount of air entering the engine, affecting its performance. Clean or replace the air filter as necessary.
  3. Carburetor Problems: If your motorcycle is equipped with a carburetor, issues such as a stuck float, clogged jets, or incorrect adjustments can lead to poor performance. Cleaning and tuning the carburetor might be necessary.
  4. Ignition System Issues: Faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, or ignition timing problems can result in incomplete combustion, leading to a loss of power. Check and replace any faulty ignition components.
  5. Exhaust System Blockage: A restricted exhaust system, such as a clogged or damaged muffler, can impede the flow of exhaust gases, affecting engine performance.
  6. Engine Compression: Low engine compression due to worn piston rings or cylinder head gasket leaks can reduce engine power. A compression test can help diagnose this issue.
  7. Throttle or Choke Cable Problems: A misadjusted or sticking throttle or choke cable can affect the fuel-air mixture and throttle response. Ensure that the cables are properly adjusted and move freely.
  8. Electrical Issues: Faulty sensors, wiring problems, or issues with the electronic control unit (ECU) can impact engine performance. A diagnostic scan might be required to identify electrical problems accurately.
  9. Valve Clearance: Incorrect valve clearance can affect engine performance. Ensure the valve clearance is within the manufacturer's specifications.
  10. Transmission or Clutch Problems: Issues with the transmission or clutch can result in power loss and limited top speed. Inspect and service the transmission and clutch components.
It's essential to perform a systematic inspection and troubleshooting process to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. If you are unsure about diagnosing or fixing the issue yourself, it's recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified motorcycle mechanic or dealership. They have the expertise and tools to diagnose and repair the problem effectively.

2007 Vino cranks but won't start...doesn't seem to even try to run. New battery, cleaned & checked spark plug, got spark, fuel is getting thru the fuel kok. Ideas?

If you've verified you have good spark on the plugs while turning over the engine with starter.... And if the plugs are wet with fuel after attempting to start the bike, then it is very likely that the timing is badly off. Checking the timing to specs. In the manual.

I have a 93fzr1000 genesies it starts out fine

Poor performance (missing & dying) when the the engine gets warmed up can very likely be a failing pickup coil. The pickup coil on this FZR1000 is bolted to the right side of the block ( hot location) and is covered by the fairing & gets very little cooling airflow. Disconnect the two-lead connector and check the resistance between the leads per the spec. In the Manuel. If within spec., heat the pickup coil with a heat gun and check it again to see if it's still in spec. If fails when hot it is not hard to replace. Removing the fairings is the most time consuming aspect.

I have a Yamaha RX-v1800 amplifier. Need help connecting a Bluetooth music receiver

To connect the Bluetooth music receiver to your Yamaha RX-V1800 amplifier, you will need to use one of the available input options on the amplifier. The Yamaha RX-V1800 should have various audio input ports, and the specific connection method will depend on the output options provided by your Bluetooth music receiver. Here are the general steps to connect the receiver:
  1. Identify the audio output options of the Bluetooth music receiver: Check the output ports of the Bluetooth receiver and determine what type of connection it supports. Common output options include:
    • 3.5mm headphone jack (analog)
    • RCA (analog)
    • Optical (digital)
  2. Choose the corresponding input on the Yamaha RX-V1800: Depending on the output options of the Bluetooth music receiver, you need to select the appropriate input on the amplifier. The Yamaha RX-V1800 should have various input options, such as:
    • AUX (usually a 3.5mm stereo input)
    • CD (analog RCA input)
    • DVD/BD (analog RCA input)
    • OPTICAL (digital optical input)
  3. Connect the Bluetooth music receiver to the amplifier: Use the appropriate cable or adapter to connect the output of the Bluetooth music receiver to the selected input on the Yamaha RX-V1800. Here's how to do it based on the different output and input options:a. If the Bluetooth receiver has a 3.5mm headphone jack (analog output) and the Yamaha amplifier has an AUX input (3.5mm stereo input), use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to connect them. b. If the Bluetooth receiver has RCA outputs (analog) and the Yamaha amplifier has corresponding RCA inputs (CD or DVD/BD), use an RCA cable (red and white connectors) to connect them. c. If the Bluetooth receiver has a digital optical output and the Yamaha amplifier has an optical input, use a digital optical cable to connect them.
  4. Set the input source on the amplifier: Once the Bluetooth receiver is physically connected to the amplifier, you'll need to select the corresponding input source on the Yamaha RX-V1800. Use the amplifier's remote control or front panel to select the input source you connected the Bluetooth receiver to (e.g., AUX, CD, DVD, OPTICAL, etc.).
  5. Pair and play: Turn on the Bluetooth function on your iPhone, put the Bluetooth receiver into pairing mode, and pair it with your iPhone. Once paired, you should be able to play your music from the iPhone, and the audio will be transmitted to the Yamaha RX-V1800 amplifier for playback.
Please note that the specific labels of the inputs on your Yamaha RX-V1800 might differ slightly from what I've mentioned, but the general concept of connecting the Bluetooth music receiver remains the same. Always refer to your amplifier's user manual for the exact location and naming of the input ports.

2005 Yamaha Vino 125. I need replace the key lock ignition on it please?

Question edited for clarity and also add Maker. Just go to a local locksmith and they can use an impressioning tool to make you a new key, in fact 2 keys. You should NEVER have just one key for any vehicle. The lock also operates the steering lock, so this is probably a complicated job. You can just buy the lock barrel, so you need to take it all apart. https://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/5003aecaf8700212fc83c081/electrical-1

Ysp1 Yamaha surround sound pops and shuts off about 15 minutes after it warms up. Any ideas?

If your Yamaha YSP1 surround sound system pops and shuts off approximately 15 minutes after it warms up, it could be indicative of an underlying issue. Here are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps to consider:
  1. Overheating: One possibility is that the system is overheating, triggering a safety mechanism that shuts it down to prevent damage. Ensure that the ventilation around the unit is not obstructed. Check if the cooling fans are working properly and if any dust or debris has accumulated on them. If necessary, clean the fans and the system's vents to improve airflow and reduce the risk of overheating.
  2. Speaker Wiring or Connections: Faulty or loose speaker wiring or connections can cause intermittent issues and trigger the system to shut off. Double-check all speaker connections to ensure they are secure and properly connected. Inspect the wiring for any damage or shorts. Consider reseating the connections or replacing the wiring if necessary.
  3. Power Supply Problems: Issues with the power supply can also lead to shutdowns. Make sure the power cable is securely connected and not damaged. Try plugging the system into a different power outlet to eliminate the possibility of a faulty outlet causing the problem.
  4. Internal Component Fault: There may be a fault with an internal component, such as a capacitor or a power supply unit. This type of issue typically requires professional repair or component replacement. Contact Yamaha's customer support or consult a qualified technician for further diagnosis and assistance.
  5. Software or Firmware Updates: Check if there are any available software or firmware updates for your Yamaha YSP1 surround sound system. Sometimes, updating the system's software can resolve glitches or bugs that may be causing the shutdown issue.
If the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, it's best to contact Yamaha's customer support or seek assistance from a qualified technician. They can provide specific guidance based on the model and help diagnose and address the underlying issue with your surround sound system.

2007 / 1700 Yamaha Midnight Silverado check engine light is staying on the bike will crank and run but when you put it in gear it shuts off

If it is an engine warning light you will need to get it plugged into an OBD2 diagnostic system. The light might not be for the carb. It could be for a separate issue. The OBD system will give Trouble codes which are clues to where the issue could be.
