High pitch beep sound over the actual recording
Hmm - it sounds like feedback - when recording it is important to turn off any monitoring or sound out from your computer. To remove the sound you describe from a recording you will need a sound editing software with either an equalizer or a pass-filter so you can filter away the offending tone.
Hi
I have a xitel
- Plug the audio cable into one end of the device. Plug the other end of the audio cable into the outputs on your home stereo system (or similar device)
- Plug the USB cable from the device into your Vista or XP computer. The drivers will self-install.
- You should have received the software with the device. It may be called LP Recorder and comes on CD. If you did, use that software to record the audio from your tape.
If you don't have the CD, you should be able to use other software. Try Windows Media Encoder
here and use its capture feature. Ensure you have already done the 3 steps above before launching the program.
If that doesn't work:
- Do the 3 steps above, then go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds (or similar), Recording tab
- Check that the device is listed in there, and make it the default device
- Then go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorder, and use this to record the audio. You can adjust quality settings from Step 2 as well.
Best regards

Cant get program to work
to eliminate the 20 seconds issue, uncheck the auto stop box...this was causing me problems and has been resolved since the box was unchecked.
How can I convert .wav to .mp3 in xitel INport deluxe?
That's because there was no MP3 encoder included in the software that came with the Xitel Inport kit. They were using a third party codec (fastencc.exe) which was being hosted by someone on Geocities. That person took it down from the site, so now the software doesn't know where to go and locate it to install it on your computer. I'm having the same problem... so I'm currently looking for a fix.
I have the input deluxe
Is this what you're looking for? http://www.xitel.com/USA/support_inport.htm
According to that site, Vista needs no additional software to use the device.
INPORT Installed, Sound Disappears
The Xitel site http://www.xitel.com/USA/support_inport.htm says when this happens, " 1. Go to START -> CONTROL PANEL -> SOUNDS AND MULTIMEDIA PROPERTIES -> AUDIO TAB
2. Make sure that in the Audio tab your soundcard appears as the Preferred Playback device with USB Audio or INport as the Preferred Recording Device. There should also be a check next to the option 'use only preferred device'.
3. When you start LPRecorder you should also make sure that Recording Device is set to USB Device or INport and Playback Device is set as your soundcard and that there is a check next to the option Simultaneous Playback."
Xitel INport audio not coming through
Change your recording device in your control panel back to your soundcard that will allow the sound back to your computer. In order to record you had to change it to Inport.
