Wireless Router doesn't work without unplugging it

Find the reset button on it, if it has one and press and hold it for 40 seconds and wait for all the lights to turn green.

I have tried a 'spare' LAN connection in the office

The port shouldn't need 'Activated'. If you are trying to connect using a 'spare' port in the wall, the wall socket may need 'patched' in to the network to allow your computer to communicate through it.

If you are connecting directly to the router/switch/network hub, it may possibly be an upload port you've connected to (a port used to connect one hub to another or to the main network). There is sometimes a switch next to the port to change it to a normal port, alternatively try selecting a different port to see if your computer will connect.

How many pcs i can conect by wrieless rawter

its depend on how many ports you have, like for example: 4 ports, 8 ports, 16 ports or more. The more ports you have the computers you install and share on the network.

Limewire firewall

Hi amy_maguires

If you have recently got a new router, there would be a firewall on the router blocking the required ports for LimeWire to operate. To get around this, refer to your Router's user manual and find out how to access it and then unblock those certain ports. PLEASE NOTE: Do not attempt to unblock all the ports as this will increase the risk of getting your router and perhaps your computers infected with viruses.

If that is not your problem, you may be using and ISP (Internet Service Provider) that has blocked those ports as downloading music uses a lot of bandwidth which is a burden on them. If you have Satelite Internet, this is probably the case. You can try and resolve this by contacting your ISP and negotiating a price for them to unplock the port for you.

Please remember to give this solution a FixYa! rating.

Happy Easter

I cannot open ports TCP/UDP for eMule using router 2Wire Infinitu

You need to portforward your router to accept emules port number/numbers. Go to portforward.com. look up your router and follow the instructions. It's pretty easy.

WAN 2 dissconnects

Try check with your subnets, if your subnet on your SBS is the same as your Xincom configuration and both your SBS and XIncom is acting as a DHCP server, it might cause a conflict.
