Xact stream jockey 11 sirius boombox xs034

Thanks to all of you for your detailed comments I found an easy way to repair the boom box. Many of you said that if you pushed down on the radio hard it would play so I tried it and I too had the same problem, but since it is impossible to stand all day holding the radio and get anything else done I figured if you can't lower the radio raise the plug! Here is what I did, first unplug the radio so you don't short anything out, then at the front of the plastic plate the radio plugs into gently pry it up with a lock blade knife (as a rule kitchen knives are too flexible) then get a small self tapping screw (the smaller the better) and screw it into the gap made by the knife your radio will now play without holding it

Metal prongs on the antenna

There are a couple of different ways the antenna connection can break. Docks and antenna replacements are available, though the actual prong itself may be difficult to track down.

Problem with Xact Communication XTR1 SIRIUS Radio Receiver

Turns out the radio isn't broken after all. In my research on your site I ran across a user who said he/she just plugged their radio in, turned it on and waited. I tried that and after a couple of minutes of a Sirius logo screen, then a blank screen followed by a high pitched beep the radio started playing again. I then remembered that one of the last things I input with the remote before the radio stopped working properly was mistakenly selecting an unwanted prompt on the AutoShutDown menu. When the radio finally came back on I selected Factory Default to reset all functions and now it operates properly. Thanks for the help.

CANNOT READ ANTENNA

I had a similar type problem where i have a lifetime subscription and my XACT VISOR XTR3 unit had a faulty power connection that was driving me nuts. i decided to try and swap out the internal receiver component with a new unactivated unit i bought on ebay. (all the types are out there and pretty cheap even for new)

in opening the new one up i found the only difference from unit to unit is the receiver brain inside the unit, and it is relatively easy to swap out the brain into the body of a new unactivated unit. just four small screws and carefully pull the brain out of the long multi-pin connector. i put the old brain into the new carcass, screwed it back together and it works like a champ. just have some patience in figuring out exactly how your particular unit comes apart, and you will need small screwdrivers and either a small allen-key set or torx set - my old unit had the allen-key screws on the outer case and the newer one had torx screws.

No antenna detected

More than likely, it is the antenna. Sad to say, but the Sirius antennas go bad very easily. Make sure there is no undue pressure on the antenna wire itself, as that can aide to premature failure. Bad antennas are the number one reason for the unit to read 'antenna not detected.' I have seen plenty of the antennas go bad and they were not misused one bit. If you contact Sirius, they're usually pretty good at understanding the misfortune of losing your paid service. Sometimes they'll ship you out a new antenna.

Sirius XTR1 Receiver cycles on dog screen with beep - keyboard locked

Hello, I had the same problem with my xact xtr1 and I was advised by xact that they have no repair process in works and most likely wont. They did say let it run for 10 minutes and once you have a menu switch to factory defaults which proves to be a worthless fix. I would have to pay $39.95 for a new radio...horrible customer service. The bright side is that Sirius will not charge me the $75.00 transfer fee as a good faith gesture. I have decided to switch to another radio and leave the Xact brand out of the equation, if there is no upgrade or modification to the existing equipment why set yourself up for a future failure.

Dropped the unit, doesn't fully power on now

You would first have to open up the unit and look carefully and see what is maybe broken or out of place. Look for loose connections. Check damaged parts.
