1999 yamaha 1200 xl limited wont start after riding
You need to start at the simple stuff. Check the spark plugs and see if they are wet with gas. If not, could be a fuel pump issue. See if the plugs are fouled, change them and check for spark. If you have both, it should at least sputter. Check for water in the fuel.
Motor runs away with its self
sounds like the carbs need stripping and the jets etc unblocking ! does the throttle link return fully to the tickover position ? or possibly the crank seals have worn letting air in !
How do I adjust seadoo RFI mixture?
There should be an adjustment screw that looks like a "t" on the side of each carb. Screw it in 1/8th turn at a time to lean it out. Too much and engine detonation. I would recommend getting the retrofit kit to block off the oil tank and run mix fuel. Then there are no issues with too lean/rich, oil pump failure, plugged oil filter, broken or collapsed oil lines etc. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at

Drive shaft removal
Not to be a rude or mean but perhaps you have taken on a job that is over you level of experience with a watercraft or that requires special tools or shop equipment. My knowledge as an auto mechanic tells me that the trouble may be due to items that are pressed together hydraulically. My best "guess" is to buy a service manual for the watercraft, follow the tear down for the shaft and bearings in question.

there are no gears just a direct drive from the crank to a jet pump ! if theres no propultion of water it could be several things !
1. plastic bag etc in the intake to impellor pump assy !
2. impellor gap to housing too much ie worn impellor !
3. impellor not turning because splines on either the shaft or impellor worn !
4. drive coupler damaged and spinning on shaft !
Try running on a hose pipe and look at rear of engine ( remove plastic cover so you can see the 2part coupler and drive shaft ) .
Check the impellor assy !
TROUBLESHOOTING FUEL PROBLEMS
carbs clean and checked the fuel pump diaphrams not gone hard etc ?? tank and fuel clean and fuel getting to carbs ?? pulse pipes on intake manifold to pump clear and if you crank engine you feel a pulse of air ? plugs sparking ? i would fit a fuel primer bulb inline of feed to carbs and prime fuel and see if helps and as engine running see if priming keeps it running then i would check pump !!

Change fluids, Check hull for bouyancy flaws, replace plugs, clean carbs or rebuild them. Most old engines get gummed up after long term storage if the fuel was not completely drained. Another possibility is that the bearings may be damaged from years of condensation and and drying. It happens sometimes and sometimes you just get lucky. Had a ducati paso 750 that blew the race on the bearings because they were deteriorated after years of storage in climate controlled space. Was fine then one day the bearings came apart in the engine and chewed it up.
