Why won't my woods timer set right
It is possible that your Woods timer is malfunctioning due to a power surge or power outage. You can check the time settings by pressing the "SET" button on the timer and then using the "+" and "-" buttons to set the time. If the timer is still not setting correctly, then it is likely the timer is damaged and needs to be replaced.
My timer comes on at
1) Put black tape over photoelectric eye on timer.
Photo-eye is small round eyeball that bulges out.
See of lights stay on.
2) Turn timer away from source of light so photoelectric eye does not pick up feedback from lights.
It sounds like photo eye is receiving enough light that it turns off, 'thinking' it's dawn.
And then when lights are off, photo eye 'thinks' it's dark again, so lights come back on.
Let me know if this is the answer, because it's Christmas season, and folks have been asking about blinking outdoor timers. And then you're en-route to become fixya expert and boost your GNP by 3 cents an answer.

How do I set the countdown timer? I need it to turn a machine on for 7 minutes, no auto times
The 50015 has a countdown feature.
Manual says you get to the correct mode, then press the clock button, then press and hold RCL-CD for 3-5 seconds ... then CD will flash in lower left corner.
If timer does not perform this function, then try the reset button ... push and hold reset for 10 seconds, then reprogram ... if functions are not restored, then timer might be defective.
