Freezing up, home ac unit no air flow after running a while

A low freon level in the unit can cause them to freeze up. Are the fins behind the filter clean?

I put on the AC and only cool air is coming out of

Hi,

If the compressore hasn't kicked in yet there would be no cold air, if it did and still no cold air, you should have it checked to see if you need refrigerant recharging. Also check the thermostat setting for your desired temperature.

I hope this help.

How many cans of refrigerant should go in to charge air

This must be a 15 passenger van or a Limo maybe. Keep adding cans till 35 psi on the low side or the fan belt starts squealing. if the belt is squealing that is an indicator you have a bit too much in there. Blows but not cooling

Is compressor running. If the fan runs and the compressor runs. You are out of refrigerant or the compressor has bad valves. Please leave feedback. Rusty

Upstairs a/c blowing warm air, outside fan not turning

Time to put away your stick, lol you really need some help from someone that can replace if necessary the fan motor on the outside coil.
without that the system will not produce subcooled liquid and no latent heat can be displaced.

Where do I find parts for everstar portable air conditioners

I just purchased a 11,000 BTU Everstar from Home Depot. Not sure if it's the same model that you have. Maybe check there? I bet an employee would be willing to open one of the boxes to answer your question. Just tell them you bought it there. :) Or call Everstar, of course. Good luck!

The unit outside is getting ice around the line close to where you put refrigerant in. House not as cool as needed.

Freon is low. Sounds counter-intuitive, but the large return line should be cool( even have condensation on it) but never cold enough to freeze.Either use factory pressure settings or add just enough Freon until Ice melts. If unit has a high-side sight glass there should be no bubbles present. Do not overfill.

My home A/C is not blowing cold air...Is this

It depends on what you think is costly. It could be anything from a capacitor to needing more refrigerant to your overload/relay on the compressor to needing a new compressor. These possobilities are writting in order off less expensive to more. It would be wise to rule out the things you can check yourself and then have a professional come and check it out.

Air conditioning top off?

Connect to the bottle and then connect to the low side (blue usually) to the low side service valve. You want the bottle to be warm. If its not warm it will be harder to charge. Don't heat the bottle just put it in the sun or put hot towels around it.
