Repair a leak
Let me cut to the chase. You may have saved yourslf $50 by finding the leak. But by law(Sec 608) federal, you can't go further unless you are EPA Certified. And then you would need Air conditioning grade Brazing material,(way stronger than plumbing solder), Oxy\Acetylene torch, a reclaiming unit, and a vacuum pump, R22 refrigerant that you need to be certified to buy, Gauges, the list goes on and on. Unfortunately you'll have to bite the bullett and spend probably a couple hundred dollars. Sorry, but I'm shooting straight here. Good luck
Water leaking from inside a/c wall unit.
Check the condensation tube (usually white plastic open ended PVC tube about an inch in diameter that sticks out of the unit). If it is full, this is where your clog is. This tube tends to accumulate mineral deposits over time. A one ounce shot of bleach should clear the jam in a few minutes. If not, try running a coat hanger down the tube to free the clog and add nother ounce of bleach.
H/p is freezing up. and acoil is freezing up.w
Two things cause freezing of the coil, lack of charge or lack of airflow, filters, coil and blower assembly all need to be clean, the thermostat will not cause feezing as it is strictly an on off control for convienience
No air flow from duct on forced air unit
If there is no air coming through all of ducts, there are several things to consider. If you turn your thermostat to fan on, does air come out? If so you may have a switching|thermostat problem. May need to change out, not really hard you just have to turn off electric mark wires as you remove and turn back on. If nothing changed, make sure the circuit breaker has tripped, sometimes its hard to tell so flip it all the way off then back on. Now try to turn on again. If it comes on you need to find out why it's tripping the breaker, merely resetting it can pose a danger for the future. Professionally servicing the unit is important to the longevity of the unit. Now if you find out that unit is coming on but no air is coming out, it could well be that a duct has blown free and is spilling into attic or crawl space. Sometimes the unit forms an ice block in the evaporative area of the unit. In this case it would need quite some time off to thaw. Also the fan motor may be burned out. In that case you would hear part of the unit working with no output. These are a few of the most common problems with this condition. Most of which needs to be addressed by a Tech

The refrigerant is charged into the system on the low side or the larger line outside at the condensor. Unless you have an EPA card to buy R22 you have to have a service tech Mainly for your safety. Get a free estimate wont cost you anything and you know upfront what it will cost. Rus
Fan not turning and unit will not cool house.
Maybe you have a bad duel run capacitor. That capacitor would cause both the fan motor and compressor to heat up and turn off on internal overload. You may want to have a qualified techician test your system.
I am replacing my central A C. with a new one.
By George, you've got it.Front seat (screw in) the high side and run the unit. Do not let it pull into a vacuum as this will allow air to be sucked into the system when you open it. Also, watch you high side gage. Don't go over 400 psi. This is usually the High pressure cut out setting on most safeties. Pull low side to about 2-3 psi and kill unit. Let sit for about 5 minutes and then run it again back down to 2-3 psi. Front seat the low side any you should be good to go.
I strongly suggest that you add a filter/dryer to the system. It's good practice to do so once the system has been open. If you are going back with a 410-a system, don't leave it open to the atmosphere for more than 15 minutes. That is, the condensing unit. The only way to remove moisture from the oil on this system is to use filter/dryers. You can not vacuum it out like in the old days with R-12.
Good luck and hope this is what you are looking for.
How do I add freon to my window air conditioning
Hi,
My advise call a tech.
EPA performs random inspections in response to citizen tips pursuing
potential cases against violators. The EPA is authorized to assess
fines of up to $32,500 per day for any violation of the Clean Act
regulations.
Always take a wise decision.
Thanks.
Unit leaking
leakage from my central air unit from drain pan, please help
Ice on the hose and not very cold
It does sound like it is losing charge. Unfortunately, most window units don't have charge ports. And the price you pay to have a guy put a port in and charge it would be more than the cost of a new unit
How do I add freon to my central air conditioner
Adding refrigerant (Freon is Dupont's name for refrigerant) requires some special tools and gauges. More important than that is your system should not loose refrigerant. It you are low that means you have a leak in the system. It should be found and repaired before new refrigerant is added. A qualified repair technician should be called.
Sincerely,

How do i put freon in my central heat and air my
This job is best done by service tech. You have to know what your doing to be able to charge a system. Plus you have to have EPA card to handle Refrigerant. You need to call service tech. Remember if you have to put gas in there isa leak. Make sure they look for one if you ahve it recharged. A unit can run forever on the same gas. Cost of chargeing an AC can very from 100 to 300 dollars. My suggestion is to ask for a free estimate. So you know up front what it will cost. Rus
