Get a new case and transfer the hard drive to the new case. You can get cases at any store that sells computer parts and several places online. https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/external-hard-drive-enclosures

Take any jumpers off the drive. If there are none, check the data cable to make sure it's in the correct spot on the motherboard. Connecting it to a blue or white connector will do that.
