call the wella customer service people and ask them, they will be able to tell you if you are going to change the chemical make up of the product, you do not want to burn your scalp.

If you're not familiar with this process, you really should have it done by a licensed professional. Unless your hair is short, the cap method for highlighting has a tendency to "bleed" onto seemingly protected hair, yielding unwanted results. Using foils is recommended. I have been a hairdresser for 30 years! This is what needs to be done YES use a ash based color ! Use a 8 or a 9 with 10 volume peroxide and it will tone down the brassy color and make it a nice golden blonde with the least amount of damage to your hair ! Compared to the others advice!

T11 is lightest beige blonde. The base is violet.

Gray hair is resistant to accept color.....You might try to find one of 2 products: " Zotos Porosity Equalizer" from Sally's or any beauty supply store. Also, Clairol has a new formulation called "Gray Solution", where there is a cream added to gray hair prior to adding color. This is for next time you plan to color.
In the meantime, you may want to purchase Roux Fanci-Full Color Styling Mousse in either #19 or #18 to tone down the red tones from your local beauty supply or online.Good Luck

I have used Wella Elan extra hold setting lotion for many years. Now I can not find it any where. There is nothing else that I have tried that is close to being as good as Wella Elan EXCEPT Beautiful Body instant hair fortifier by Naturelle. I have been a cosmetologist for 34 years and I am so disappointed that it has been discontinued.
Beautiful Body instant hair fortifier by Naturelle can be purchased from Sally's Beauty Supply if you can not find it anywhere else. It cost around $7 or $8 for a 16 oz. bottle.

no I don't think it would. A beige is a red violet base. if you are orange you need to use a blue or ash based toner and a violet toner for the yellow, this will counter act the un wanted pigment. Not sur what to recommend in wella. I use redken at work.

I called Proctor&Gamble (who bought out Wella) and complained about it being discontinued. Toll free number is 1 800+935-5273 (east coast time zone) Maybe if e enough people complain, they might bring it back.
