Did you have another key so you could drive the volvo or did it set for 3 months. I you did not insert a key for 3 months, it is possible that something entered the key tumbler or someone tried another key or screwdriver or pick and bent the key tumblers. You may need to replace the key tumbler and key or have a key tooler take your key and tumbler and reset them so that the would work together again.

This could be your IAC valve, or idle air valve which is supposed to open fully when the car is put into drive. If not, engine will stall out. Clean throttle body, as well as the IAC valve with carb cleaner. Turn IAC upside down so carb cleaner does not enter the body of the valve or motor end of business.

You can find vacuum leaks with something smoking, such as a cigar or a sage bundle or a can of carb cleaner will sometimes help you locate the leak.

Check for fuel pressure / sound of pump going with key in the "on" position as it primes the fuel system. There should be a schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail, it's got a plastic cap on it - uncap it and depress the valve carefully ; if you have good fuel pressure it should be pressurized and come out fast. If not, bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay.

Where is your coolant leak coming from? Front of vehicle is possible radiator damage ; if from under or behind the motor this can be rubber engine hoses or heater core hose deterioration

Check Fuse 28 and Fuse 11 in CEM. If both fuses are okay then you may have water damage behind the radio. Also try a battery disconnect -- disconnect both + and - battery lines and join them together briefly, then leave it unhooked for 15 minutes and reconnect battery.

check for the shifter button problem - pull out on the button a little. if it pulls outward then it should be the same thing i experienced. at first i was able to correct this by pulling out on the button and inserting my finger under it. there is a thin metal rod in there that controls the shift cable. try pushing it back up a lil and keep the button as close to your inserted finger as you pull your finger back out. this worked well enough to get the vehicle back in gear so i could get the car home. i then pulled the button out of the shifter by inserting my finger again and carefully pulling on it. once that is out you can use your finger to pull the top of the shift cable upward and shift like you normally would.
