To fix this, you can use an app like GPS Status & Toolbox to clear your GPS data and to start connecting to satellites from scratch. In the app, tap anywhere on the screen, then tap the menu icon and hit Manage A-GPS state. Tap Reset, then when that's finished go back into the Manage A-GPS state menu and tap Download.

If you're not getting the Unknown Terrain error due to you driving on a road that doesn't exist, keep using it till you do. Plan for a new one till then. Not worth the $90 for something that outdates itself in 2 years. Newer ones are faster, more accurate, have more capacity, have higher resolution and are more efficient.

Um. I guess its may be because your at location wherein sat signals are week or other case could be when person relocate to other countries and if sat nav was bought from previous countries wherein its meant for to use then this happens (i personally experiencing this) . Sometimes magnetic environment factors can cause disruption in signals.

  1. Start with the device OFF and unplugged from power
  2. Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil
  3. Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the device ON
  4. Release the power button when the device powers ON
  5. You will see a new message: "Do you really want to erase all user data?"
  6. Remove your finger from the touch screen when this message displays
  7. Touch Yes

Sounds like it is not getting a clear path to the sky. Try putting it in a different location in the windshield. had this problem with one couple where the wife wanted to hold it in her lap and give her husband directions. This doesn't work it has to be in windshield with clear view of sky. If that doesn't work try a reset. Another problem could be interference from something jamming/ blocking signal like Bluetooth radio try turning every thing off in car and see if you can get a signal also get away from all buildings .
