Projector will not turn on.

I too have to same problem, did you find a solution? I swapped out the existing fans with different ones to try to solve the problem to no avail. I inspected the bulb for signs of malfunction and could not find any. Any updates would be wonderful!

I have a viewsonic pjd5111

Unfortunately, the PJD5111 is indicating that the lamp has overheated. If you wait 45 minutes for the projector to cool down and these lights still come on, then the unit has an internal failure. The failure may be in the temperature sensor or that circuit. If the projector is still under warranty or on a maintenance plan, contact the dealer. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells

Won't focus

there is a adjuster on the lens, but it also depends on how fare you have it from the area you want to display too, as some are 3 meters or more away and some models are 2 meters away,if moving it to close to the area it displaying to and is clear at this point then the chamber has become moved (ie dropped or banged) this will knock out the alignment, and would think its the focuser has move. can also be condensation on the dlp if its been stored in a damp area this would also make it hard to focus as it would leave marks on the dlp chip that she light shines through. and would need cleaning off,

When connecting the projector to a Dell Latitude 5520 Laptop(with Windows 7)with docking station the screen goes black on the computer and the projector does nothing. Is this a driver problem?

It may be that the drivers are outdated, ie compatible with Win XP but not Win 7. What you could try, if not already done: Start>Printers and Devices> Right-click the projector icon, select troubleshoot. Also select drivers, compatibility to see if any errors are reported. The black screen may be your video card or CPU transferring all video data to the projector port to conserve RAM. Failing all the above, I can only suggest you visit the projector website and look for the latest up-to-datest drivers for Windows 7.
