Need to replace one foam

Eevn if you could find it, you would pay a (relative) fortune for what should really be a cheap part.

Any bicycle shop or store that sells handlebar grips or grip tape could find something that would fit and be bullet-proof. You could customize your stroller with color and pattern. There would be more than enough for both sides.

For example...

Videos for wrapping handlebar tape abound.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs7BY4wKHTM Your requirements don't involve the complexity of shifters and brakes, so it should be a piece of cake to install.

We have a valco runabout stroller and the front

Hi,

There is a device on this stroller called a hex lock which when unlocked will allow the front wheel to swivel.

The front wheel is designed to be in a locked position when running or walking fast as the stroller is supposed to be more stable at speed in the locked position. However, there are some reports of the Hex lock warping and causing the stroller to track severely to the left or right when in locked position. A defect such as this is a safety issue and will be repaired at no extra cost to the customer if it is found to be the case on the stroller.

It certainly sounds like this is what is wrong with your stroller i.e it is not tracking in a straight line due to a misalignment of the hex mechanism.

The hex mechanism is a plastic sleeve that slides down over the hex-shaped front pivot, locking it in place so you could experiment with this by lifting it to allow the wheel to swivel and see if this improves the situation and control of the stroller.

However, I should say that some owners are complaining that this device does not always stay either up or down as designed and because of this it has a tendency to lock or unlock the wheel at unexpected times. An improved hex mechanism has been fitted to later strollers by the manufacturer.

For this reason, I would advise that you have the stroller checked over by the companys service representative by contacting the vendor where you purchased the stroller.

Any defects of this nature should be repaired at the manufacturers expense and not yours.

Hope this helps.

Please do leave a vote for the solution. Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

Unfortunately, You cannot take out the inner liner for your Valco Runabout to get it washed. Apparently, the manufacturer didn't want consumers to be able to do that so if your product starts look and get really dirty you'll just be forced to get a new one.

I hope this answers your inquiry. Thanks and good day.
