When I try to use the shredding disk on my FP-12DC food processor, the disk is so close to the cover that it scrapes plastic off the underside of it.

If the shredding disk on your Cuisinart FP-12DC food processor is scraping against the cover and causing damage, it suggests that the disk is not properly seated or there may be an issue with the assembly. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem: Check the assembly: Ensure that the stem adapter and shredding disk are properly aligned and securely attached to the food processor. The stem adapter should fit snugly into the center of the work bowl. Make sure the shredding disk is correctly placed on top of the stem adapter and clicks into place. Inspect the cover: Examine the cover for any obstructions or misalignments that may be preventing the shredding disk from fitting properly. Clean the cover to remove any food particles or debris that may be causing interference. Verify compatibility: Ensure that you are using the correct shredding disk for your specific model of food processor. Different models may have different sizes or types of disks. Refer to the user manual or contact Cuisinart's customer support to confirm that you have the right shredding disk for your FP-12DC model. Adjust the disk height: Some food processors allow you to adjust the height of the slicing or shredding disk. Check if your model has an adjustment mechanism or a reversible disk with different heights. Follow the instructions in the user manual to adjust the disk height to the appropriate position. Contact customer support: If you have followed these steps and the problem persists, it's recommended to reach out to Cuisinart's customer support for further assistance. They will have specific knowledge about your food processor model and can provide guidance or arrange for a repair if necessary. Avoid using the food processor with a misaligned or damaged shredding disk, as it may affect the processor's performance or cause further damage.

What fitting do I need to use for a Presta valve on my bicycle. I wasn't able to fill my tire up.

You can use a "Presta adapter", or some floor pumps can do both types of valves. You can get an adapter from any bike shop or even from Walmart: I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/donald_f2ed37026a3ac881

I have a 1985 vintage bike with a friction derailleur. I want to replace the friction derailleur with a index derailleur, which index derailleur is recommended, and could I use exiting gears on bike

I will preface this by saying that if you don't have the tools, and to a lesser degree the experience, to properly work on your bike it's not worth the time or money to go to indexed shifting on a less expensive bike.. You can probably use the existing rear cluster (freewheel) if it's Shimano. You would also need compatible indexing levers and possibly new cables and housing. Any level of compatible indexing derailleur will work. If your rear cluster is not Shimano, or if it's "Ultra-6" then the freewheel would have to be replaced. In any case 6 speeds in back would be the most I recommend, and also the highest you can go without replacing the chain. If the freewheel is not compatible then you're best off looking for a good indexed used bike and selling yours, due to cost. Purchased bike. stickersays bmx pro 1974 trying to use serial # to see if this is really a bmx pro 1974

As far as I know "BMX Pro" is not a brand/model. Whatever the brand is, the serial number is often not useful. Contact the manufacturer (name on the head tube where the fork goes through the frame. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/donald_f2ed37026a3ac881

It's me again about the Riviera Verasato 21 speed bike. If there is no instruction manual availabale, maybe someone can tell me how to work the gears. I don't know how to use them. Thank you.

Owner's manual for bikes will not tell you how to use the gears. Just Google "how to shift gears on a bike" Find one that shows the same type of shifters you have (does not have to be the same brand of bike). Better yet, find a local bike co-op or bike shop to show you on a bike stand before you hit the road (hopefully not literally).
