Your question does not match the area you are in. I have no idea what your question is on the projection lamp and as for the rope you need to post more information. Not all are strung the same.

It depends of what is wrong. Perhaps the storm has nothing to do with having an empty cartridge. Perhaps lightening, induced a little current in the printer or in the chip on the toner cartridge. You only can find out, by placing another toner cartridge in its place. And don't wonder if the error still is there. But then you have to call in an service engineer, because something serious can be wrong. At least i hope you at least remover the cartridge once, to see if all contacts on the chip (and in the printer) are still clean and shiny. Only clean contacts with a dry cloth or a cotton swab. Vever use anything sharp.

For mine to print I have to hit either the subtotal key, or the total key. (# and/or * )

On the upper right corner of the bin opening you will see a slot in the black plastic. I taped a part of a business card into the slot and it now works. Just make sure to unplug the machine when the door is open.

Unplug it and then open i t up. You are looking for a piece of shredded paper that is stuck or jammed. Can even be a accumulation of paper dust. The piece won't be that big but most of the time that is all that is wrong. The paper either jams the door sensor or blocks it and gives the error. It can also be a bad door sensor or switch. Not very common but can happen.

The rubber molding probably still has a coating of mold release on it form when made. Try some plain alcohol to remove it, or some dish soap and water. It may be a silicon based mold release agent which is very stubborn to remove.

Goto start setting control panel (add & remove programs) uninstall
the software that drives your unit , after re-installing the software
your unit will have fresh drivers installed , follow the steps for
your unit and you'll be back using your device .

5 flashes says the printhead is not installed properly, you may need a new printhead,

You said that the light blinks 7 times. It means that the BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective

Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge.

make sure that the ink cartridge is in the docking posistion on far left hand side of printer. press down firmly on the cartridge and then slide it out.

The mechanism is overloaded. No doubt from debris inside. need to to tak it apart, clean it all up, relube, and reassemble.

Recheck by removilng an reinserting cartridge

to the original, does it fit tight and latch down

Sounds like the pcb is faulty.Get a new board or a new Shredder. Dave UK
