Are you sure the OET-1E is a universal emote? The single mention in this link doesn't make me think it is.

wharfdale TVs are rebadged by Argos, so I am unsure of the actual manufacturer, and therefore the control signal scheme that they use.
It might help if you gave the model number of the particular TV, as they could be using several different manufacturers in their range of televisions.

You should have bought a remote that was made for your television. They are $20 and called Facsimile Remotes. No programming and an exact copy of the original. I don't find the code posted at the code search sites on the web. If you retain the user guide that came in the box with the TV, you may find the manufacturer listed. A call to the manufacturer should get you the code for the remote. It may be made by Hisense and probably in China but I am not certain. Your dealer or the warranty information may include contact information. Alternatively, you might try the following technique with a universal remote:
