Printer only prints blank pages
I would suspect that the you didn't get the drum back in properly. There are contacts on the drum casing that need to make contact with the base of the printer. It's possible that either it's not seated properly or that some toner is lodged over the contact preventing a good electrical connection. Try removing the drum again and carefully reinsert.

Why no dialing tone on fax machine?
Unplug the phone calde from the fax machine and plug it in to phone. Do dial tone, is the other end connected to the outlet in the wall? Do you have a phone line to use as a fax line?

Grinding Noise
It would probably be time for a new hard drive. You can try putting it in a plastic back and them put it in the freezer for an hour. Sometimes this gives you enough time to pull the data off. A drive recovery service would be the other option if the information on the drive is very important to you (Ontrack.com or Driversavers.com)

My mother board had to be replaced on my pc that
I always use HP printers and every time i get a new operating system (vista, win7 etc) the HP software does not fully install. I go to HP.com to install the latest software for the appropriate OS but rarely get more than just the printer working. If i require the scanner or cd print features i have to do that from an older computer or older operating system that the printer was originally installed on.

Printer is not aligned - hp j6480
You should have an icon on your desktop called "HP Solution Center." Click on the icon, and look for "Printer Toolbox." Open the toolbox, and there should be a button which will print an alignment page.If not, then click open your Start Menu, click on All Programs, scroll down to HP.... and look for Printer Toolbox. and proceed as above. If none of this works, go to :
www.HP.com click on Support for your device (model name and number) and you should be able to get an answer there... Good Luck.Joel Bergmann
