Unfortunately, handsets are not universal for Uniden cordless phone systems. The accessory handset for the EZX290 is compatible with the DECT1500, 2000, 2100, 300 and 2900 DECT 6.0 phone systems. First make to get a compatible handset.

For the Uniden D1660-2, the compatible handsets are DCX160 and DWX337. Make sure that you have not exceeded the number of handsets that the phone can support. The D1660-2 can support 12 handsets unless you use any DWX337 handsets. Then the limit is 6. (If you have more handsets, you will need to deregister some of them first.) Then allow the handset to charge. If the handset is reading "not registered", then place it into the base unit. You should see "Handset Registering" for about 30 seconds; then it will read Registration Complete. This is the most common Registration for Uniden phones; there are a few exceptions (depending on the base or the replacement handset). Check the appropriate manual (see below to find the manuals).

For the DECT4096, press Menu on the base and then navigate to Handset Register. When you see Handset Registering on the base display, press and hold # on the handset to be registered until you see Handset Registering. (It takes about 2 seconds.) After the display changes to Handset Registered, check for dial tone.

On a few Uniden phones, there is a Page/Handst Register button on the base. On those you navigate through the Handset menu to Handset Register (Menu > Handset menu > Handset Registration). Then press and hold the Page button until you hear a beep. Then wait for the registration to be completed.

The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
2. Take the battery out of each handset.
3. Wait for a few minutes.
4. Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
5. Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
6. Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
7. The older version phone should now register on the same base.
8. Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.

If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

It may be that the message is held by the Telco. Phone the supplier and ask. You dial in with a special number and PIN.

Most current models can even check if you have messages on the telephone provider's voice mail. (Sometimes, they'll give spurious voice mail information.) However, they don't have any built-in way of seeing any data (another call) from the telephone provider when the phone is in use.)

Unfortunately, the EXI5560 is not an expandable cordless telephone system. The base can only use the handset to which it was originally linked at the factory. Similarly, the DXA15588 handsets need to be paired to that base, not just to any Uniden cordless phone base. The first handset gets registered while it is charging in the main base. Charge the second handset fully in the charging base. Make sure not to use the phone for any incoming calls during the registration process. Take the first handset off the main base. You do not have to put this handset on the other charger and put second handset on the main base. Wait for the Charge/In Use LED to begin to flash. Wait at least another 5 seconds before removing the second handset from the main base. That's when you should be able to use the find HS button on the DXA15588-2 main base to get both handsets to beep. I hope this helps.
