I have a uniden corded handset Model 3098. The visual ringer continues to blink. How can I turn it off?

Answer

How to stop the visual ringer blinking

That might be the Voice Mail Warning Indicator. On the D3098 and similar handsets, it is reset by: 1. press [menu] 2. scroll down to "Global Setup", press [select] 3. scroll down to "VMWI Reset", press [select] 4. scroll down from "No" to "Yes", press [select] 5. handset will chirp, blinking lamp goes out, 6. press [END] Other models, check your manual. The model number is on a small sticker under the battery in the handset -- enter this number at www.manualslib.com to get a free copy of the User's Manual.

Please advise as to how to increase the VOLUME on

To adjust the ringer volume:
  1. With the phone in standby, press ^ or v. The display shows the current volume level and the handset sounds the ringer at that level.
  2. Use ^ to make the ringer volume louder or use v to make it softer or turn it off completely.
  3. When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys. The handset will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset won't ring. If you have any accessory handsets, other handsets will ring according to their individual settings.

To adjust the earpiece volume:

You can choose from six volume levels for the handset earpiece. To adjust the earpiece volume while on a call, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the earpiece.

To adjust the speaker volume:

You can choose from six volume levels for the handset speaker while on a speakerphone call. To adjust the handset speaker volume, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the handset speaker.

Note: The handset earpiece and the handset speaker have separate volume settings.

Is a Uniden D1780-2W handset compatible with a Uniden EZAI2997 base? I cannot get it to register.

No, the Uniden D1780-2W handset is not compatible with the EZAI2997 base. The EZAI2997 base is compatible with up to 6 EZX290 handsets. Amazon lists some used models for sale: https://www.amazon.com/Uniden-Accessory-Handset-Charger-EZX290/dp/B0026LLBG8 . The D1780-2W handset came with the D1780-2 or other models with the D1780 or D1780-BT base. Uniden has the manuals for these systems on their support site. The current link to the EZAI2997 manual is http://www.uniden.info/download/ompdf/EZAI2997om.pdf . The D1780 support page is http://www.uniden.info/download/index.cfm?s=D1780 . The manual for this system is currently http://www.uniden.info/download/ompdf/D1780om.pdf . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

How do i recharge my

Phone's "Status Light" Not Illuminating or Battery Failing to Charge

  • 1.Check that the base unit's AC adapter is plugged into the both the base unit and electrical outlet firmly.

  • 2.Wipe the base unit's handset holder's connectors and the connectors on the bottom of the handset with a soft cloth/rag or pencil eraser to remove any loose dust and dirt from the metal connectors.

  • 3.Place the handset firmly in the base unit holder until the "Status Light" illuminates, indicating the battery is charging.
4.Replace your Uniden cordless phone's battery, by purchasing a compatible battery from an electronic supply store or directly from Uniden. Turn your phone's handset unit over and remove its battery door. Lift the phone's battery pack up and gently unplug the battery's wire connector by pressing in on the connector's side and pulling the connector free from the phone's circuit board. Battery installation is the reverse of removal.
