18650 3.7v rechargeable battery.

Sounds like the battery needs to be charged. The same thing happens to mine when the battery gets close to being depleted.

Try unscrewing the flashlight head from the flashlight body and removing the LED lamp assembly. It is integrated with the reflector which can also be unscrewed from the lamp assembly if necessary. The lamp assembly makes contact through two springs that make contact with the flashlight body and it is possible it was not assembled correctly causing one of the springs to be distorted and not make contact. Failing that, the LED emitter assembly might be defective.
