Sorry but XP is no longer viable...not since last year. And...you are not protected from malware nor will you get any updates. While that may not seem like a big deal today, you're going to encounter big problems in a very short time. Star thinking about getting a new system.

Just a thought.. if the configuration utility is installed, you might open the program's Properties and have it run in compatibility mode for Windows XP or Vista.

If you have a computer tower, preferably an old one from 1997-2004, there should be those color ports on the back of the tower. Plug each one of those jacks into the same color holes and install a driver. That is all I can say. I collect webcams, also.

The driver download is available from the USRobotics support page for this device and it accessed by CLICKING HERE. It will work with all versions of windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems. Make sure to download the correct driver.

The model number you provided is not a router, it is an access point. As such, it doesn't have its own native IP address, it gets one via DHCP when you connect it to your network. You should have received a setup disk with the access point that has a configuration utility. If you don't have the disk any more, you find the utility online at http://www.usr.com/support/product-template.asp?prod=5451. Use this to regain access. Otherwise, you can login to your current main ROUTER and check the DHCP table to see which IP addresses have been assigned. You should be able to tell which one was assigned to the access point. If you cannot figure out which one is which, just PING each one successively, and the results will give you NAME of the device you are pinging.

The latest firmware release for that router is found HERE.Be very careful to follow the instructions; especially I suggest connecting direct cable to your router to insure there are no interruptions in transmission. Since I don't have a USR I can't tell you where the current firmware number is located. However, the usual places are directly on the router itself, perhaps on the bottom or rear. Also check the manual, although usually manufacturers don't use this because many times they supply manuals for several models and don't want dated material. It wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail to USR support, most of these companies are pretty good about responding. My suggestion is to flash your firmware only if you have a problem and no other choice.If your flash goes bad or is interrupted your router will be bricked.

There is no support for windows 7 with that device. Your best bet is to buy a new adapter. You can find some decent ones on amazon for $15
