Brand new wont start

Hi Jim: I would not hesitate in contacting the sales company and asking for some coaching. Trying to do anything that is not in the "Owners manual" for initial startup could void your warranty. Cheers.

Won't start just bought

Hi Jim: If you bought it new from a dealer........ I'd recommend that you call them ASAP. Anything that you try that is not according to their startup procedure could void the warranty. - If you bought it used at an incredible price, reply as a COMMENT to this post and I'll do what I can to coach you. Cheers.

We have a Troy-Bilt chipper and every time we use it, we have to change the spark plug in order for it to start.

Check the gap on your plug when you put a new one and then check it after you run it normally. If it is smashed check your piston for a contact point where it was hitting the plug.

Check your manual for the correct plug type. They my have put the wrong on in and if you just keep putting in the same plug...

Call troy-bilt they are pretty good about service issues.

Pull string broke how do I replace it

Don, Instead of me writing a book to ya on how to do this. A much much easier way to do this is to go on you tube.com

In the search menu, type in how to replace starter pull rope on (make) leaf blower...etc..

This way you will have visualization to go along with the instructions.

It's not super difficult, you can do this!! Good luck

Change head on trimmer

you buy spool of line and thread your self, you maybe able to buy the spool already has string on the spool, most are basic, the spool should have the direction you need to string it.unplug the trimmer, turn up side down, it have nut on it, unscrew it counter clock wise, than pull spool off restring the line for the weed eater, the string must be wound counter clock wise from the direction the weed eater or trimmer spins. www.ask.com/mfg.name/make/model/change/head/trimmer/

Replace pull cord

Easy to do - go to Utube and they have the instructional video on how to accomplish this. Hardest thing is to get the cord - Home depot only sells it in 50 foot lengths. But you can get a kit complete with handle for about five bucks same store.

Why does the weed eater not trim even though it spins?

it is getting hot from friction because you cannot tighten it so the head spins but everytime it hits a wed it tries to stop spinniing because it is slipping from the bolt not tightened. fix the bolt hole with a tap and put in a new bolt

Starts up when choked then dies. Has a new carb and using 4 cycle fuel that is fresh. Ran great till 3 weeks ago then this.

I just went through the same problem with my Yardworks trimmer that is identical to this. If it starts when chocked after priming but stall immediately would usually indicate that there is no fuel getting to the engine. I also found that switching to non-ethanol premium fuel made all the difference in the world.

My Troybilt 4 cycle trimmer, it is leaking oil.

Look to see where the oil is coming from. Take part of it apart , if necessary. It is most likely either a gasket or cracker housing.

Pull start not turning engine. not engaging

www.troybilt.com/equipment/troybilt/ownercenter Take it off and you will see a pawn(s) that stick out and engages the flywheel when the rope is pulled. You will also see why that is not happening. Stuck ,broken or stripped pawn maybe.
