I have a Jato 2.4 from traxxas and i cant get it to start and i charged my battery all night
you need to pull the glow plug out and see if its good visually; look at the coil in the hole in the bottom it should look like a spring unbroken. If you have a glow stick put it on the plug and see if it glows. If you can just replace the glow plug they go bad and it may still look fine.
you need to set your main carb needle to 3 turns out from closed.
Now with the glow plug out place a clean rag over the cylinder head where the plug came out of and use you starting wand to turn the motor over........the rag is there to keep fuel from spraying in your eyes. turn the motor for 5 seconds.
Next put the plug back in and gently tighten it down with an 8mm socket. Put your plug wire back on and try to start the engine for 3 seconds. If it starts up reves high then dies try this.
Put your finger over the exhaust and turn the motor over until you see gas go into the carb the remove your finger from the exhaust and continue to crank the motor for no more than 10 seconds.....she should start now. Adjust the carb according to the manual. Have fun.
I just installed a rd
I'm pretty darn sure it's going lean because this pipe has a rep for not enough back pressure. Your engine may run hot and burn out prematurely if you continue to use it. A properly tuned pipe, or even the factory muffler will be better in the long run and be more driveable too.
Engine not moving, looks like the piston got stack on top tdc.
This is a typical Issue. You can try turning the flywheel by hand to see if you can get the piston to move from TDC, If that does not work you will probably have to remove Glow-Plug and insert something Brass, Wood, Plastic Strong enough to push on piston but as mentioned not a screwdriver etc. due to possibility of damage to piston.
Then you can push the piston down.
If using a dowel of wood or plastic and you cannot push the piston down you can gently tap on the device you decide to use "LIGHTLY" and it should move off of TDC.
Starts but wont stay running
how new is the truck...if its still brand new the motor usally needs a break in time or a rich fuel so that the piston and sleeve seat properly...or if it was run too lean for too long the sleeve needs replaced...or carb settings we will work through what we can..to get it going..
Ez set button
The set button has a tendency to get stuck, try blow pressurised air around the button that might help. Else you have to disassemble the esc to get the dirt out, but you probably won't do that to a brand new esc.
