WHEN I LOAD OS IT

i did find this manual for it
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20070720154127.zip
maybe it might be somewhere in it of how the bios sees the hard drive. normally a bios will boot to the DVD drive first then a hard drive so make sure you dont have anything connected like a USB or a cd in the DVD drive unless it is the OS software. also disconnect the network cable if it is plugged in.

My laptop "toshiba tablet portage

If your computer is still under warranty you can contact the Toshiba support site and order recovery media. They will refer you to the company that sells them. The cost is about 45 dollars + taxes.Even if your computer is no longer under warranty you may still be able to obtain the recovery medias.Failing that, you may consider buying a retail version of the Windows Operating system and install it on the computer. Some custom buttons may not work, and you will have to go to the Toshiba support web site to download the drivers for your computer. Before buying a version of Windows, check the Toshiba site for your computer and your intented OS (WinXP 32/64, Vista 32/64, or Win 7 32/64) )to see if they have drivers.

Can you use your finger,

No you cannot. It does not have touch capabilities. But that should not be too difficult to verify. Poke your finger on an icon to see if it comes alive.

I want to write pen

If you have Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005 installed on it, you can use the Wacom Pen to enter text instesd of type it.

On Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005, there is an Input panel Icon on the tray bar, usually to the left, close to the Start button.
Use the pen to click the Input Panel. When it opens showing you a black line on yellowish backround you can start using the pen as if it were on paper. Depending on the pen input setting it will insert automatically or waits for you to press the insert button.
However for the converted text to be inserted you need to have a text editing software open (Word Pad for example.)

If when you open the input panel you see a keyboard you can change that to handwriting (continuous line) or typing separate letters.

The computer can be taught to recognize your handwriting: You will need to practice. You might have to download and install the relevant ink recognition package for your language. Look for it on the Microsoft tablet PC page.

Hi I have a toshiba

You can set a user password from inside Windows. From the configuration panel look for an icon that represents two persons and click on it. Follow instructions on setting a user password.
You can also set a password on boot but you have to be careful: If you forget it you cannot open the tablet to remove the password. You will need to take the computer to a Toshiba Certified Service Center.

To set the password on boot you can use the BIOS SetUp configuration or a Toshiba Windows applications (HRWset).

For Windows XP tablet PC edition 2005
If you have the CrossMenu application you can run the HRWsetup from there. You can also go to All programs, Toshiba Utilities and look for HRWSetUp.

For Windows Vista or Windows 7, the name of the application may be Toshiba Security Assist.

Be very careful. You must not lose the password
