I have a toshiba tecra
Error codes are only of use by the Toshiba Technical staff and of no use to you as the consumer.
If you report that to the Toshiba Technical personnel, they can transcribe the error number for you.
If a blinking light comes on when charging, sometimes it indicates No Charge or the power cell inside the computer is not accepting a charge and will not function. You might replace the power battery if it has been in there for several years. They do tend to die after a while. As for the computer, it should operated without the battery. If it fails to boot when the power adapter is plugged in, then one of two issues are common. 1, the power adapter is faulty and needs replacement. 2. the computers CPU may be damaged by a power surge and that is bad news.
I have a screen problem.

Toshiba is famous for overheating problems, blow out your cooling fan with canned air. Also another fairly common issue with the M4 is memory module seating, basically the memory modules/sticks werent put in properly by the factory...i know..go figure. Remove the memory panel from the back of the unit and remove the memory stick/s. Should be 2 of them, be gentle, and then just simply reinstall them back where they were making sure they are seated in the slots firmly, then replace the memory cover and fire it back up. This worked on 4 or 5 ive repaired with similar issues. Hope this helps you as well.
No sound from built in speakers.
The bleep cold be just a bleep device separate from the speakers. It looks like a round piece of aluminum with a large dot of white solid past on it with a wire attached.
1st. make sure the volume is up all the way.
Then try using a headphone just to make sure the sound card is working.
If the headphones work then it should be a setting somewhere.
Sometime the switch that turns off the speakers when headphones are plugged in gets stuck, try plunging them in and unplugging them out while music is playing.
If they don't work the sound card may be blown but it is still possible it is not.
Also, try Keyboard shortcuts for mute and UN-mute.
Try going to control panel and bring up the sound app and try different options in there for mono and or what ever it has, you may find the answer there.
If the headphones work but nothing else works you can always plug external speakers in the headphone plug.

I installed windows xp on
Toshiba Tecra M4-S435 is Tablet PC. Windows XP (Profession) has no option of touch screen.
In order to use the feature, you need to install Windows XP Tablet PC Edition or you may install Windows 7, which supports this feature and you would definately be able to use stylus and touch screen, as I have installed Windows 7 and its working fine with all the drivers etc.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Where is the location of CMOS battery on
You'll have to open up the laptop and get free access to the motherboard. Usually CMOS batteries on laptops are soldered onto the motherboard so you'll need to have some soldering skills to do this.
About the price, usually it's in the $10 range, but the best way to go is to get the original battery and visit the local wrist watch store or a specialized batteries store and ask for a replacement.
If this was helpful and informative please vote with a Thumb Up. Thank you.
I replaced my Toshiba Tecra
When you replace the CMOS battery, you must wait about 10 minutes with the old battery removed, before fitting the new one (if you had a problem with the error message before) - when you fit the new battery, plug the tablet in and don't turn it on - this will give the new battery a chance to power up all of the CMOS on the board and settle down. Then turn it on, wait for the error message about the date and time being wrong, set the time correctly and the problem has gone.
