The issue is the size of that jack. There are two basic sizes 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm . The manual does not say which one is on your television. If you have a set of headphones you can try that would let you know. Otherwise it is trial and error. What you need to do is get a cable that has that end on it and then make the connection to your speakers. Using the wires on the speakers you need to be able to tell what polarity they are and connect two of them to one of the wires in the cable that you found that fits the jack. These are the ground connection and on the cable the ground is usually a bare wire strand. Then the other two cables that are remaining, connect to each of the wires that are coming out of the connection to the television ( they should be colored) One goes to each for left and the other for right. You may want to solder them and make sure that you tape or insulate them against shorts.

The SE-R0094 is the original remote for the SD-KT50. So should work with it unless it's faulty. You can get the service manual for the SD-KT50, that might give you clues as to why it doesn't work. It's free the manual, just type the model number into Google.

Could be sound settings you have selected. Some TV's have different controls, such as graphic equalisers, speech only, music, cinema. Check them all out.

Could be just bad luck! It seems unlikely to me that the power supply would take nearly a year to destroy the T-con board! You could get in touch with Toshiba to see if there is some kind of problem that is cropping up on this model that might cause failure in on the T-con.
