1. Is the main charger installed securely? 2. Check if the spring of high-voltage supply contact point is deformed. 3. Check if the needle electrode is broken or the main charger grid is deformed. 4. Check if any foreign matters is on the needle electrode or the main charger grid. 5. Check if the transfer roller and the separation needle are installed securely. 6. Before you replace the HVT board, check HVT connector bracket (the black color plastic piece mounted on the machine frame where the main charger connects). If this part is damaged or cracked, the high voltage will arc through this, which can cause C970. (found in several machines).

Make sure the machine is off. While holding down the "0" and "8" buttons on the keypad, turn the copier back on. Type in '263' on the keypad and press the green start button. The password should now show up on the copier's screen. Press 'Set' to set the new password. Tip.

Thermopiles • Check if the fuser belt center and side thermopiles (front, rear) are installed properly. • Check if the harnesses of the fuser belt center and side thermopiles (front, rear) are open circuited.
