You can put a Power On Password of your Toshiba, this will prevent unauthorized access to youe laptop. If you forget this password then you will have problems unlocking your Toshiba.
The Power on Password is configured in the BIOS under sercuity settings.
You can also put a password on the hard drive and if your Toshiba is stolen and they remove the hard drive out of your Toshiba into another laptop they cannot get access to the data on your hard drive.
NOTE if you forget the hard disk password you will not be able to access your hard disk.

learn to use your task bar speaker icon and open the player, and set the output you want. most PCs a mic hot and speakers hot both cause huge loud feeback so this is not allowed. the turntable my be acting as a mike ,see? got the manual on the turn table, and read about that:)? or use audacity to record to mp3. then play back the MP3./ the limits are the soundcard/chip and software drivers. some do not allow this, this turntable come with software, or is that lost.

The correct firmware is only available from the manufacturer. Go to toshiba.com, find your model number and download the latest firmware.

Check out either the audio drivers (start > settings > control panel > system > hardware > device manager >check for exclamation mark in front of the audio device) and update if nessersary,
Or the audio mixer levels from the audio related icon at the taskbar. In case it's missing go start > settings > control panel >sound devices > mark the checkbox "volume icon at the taskbar"

After the above you will be able to hear audio from your computer but in case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Normally every Lap is coming wit internal mic; so

1- Simply check your mic is mute or not

2 - Check your mic volume

3 - Use sound recorder that comings with windows (just record & play)

4 - Use an external MIC (known as working) with sound recorder

5 - Check in control panel->sound and audio device --> default recording device and Voice recoding device as your system’s built-in audio device (some times it’s changing when we installing b-tooth deice)

6 - Check device manager --> under sound audio controller for any issues

7 – Uninstall & install completely your Audio Device driver with default settings.

** If you didn’t solve your prob; my advice is take your lap to a good technician with component level Repair skills.

try to update your media player.if possible windows media player 11. If still it doesnt work try to check your direct X installed components. Try to update it also. next try to check your display driver settings maybe your display driver isn't working. check it by running the run command and type dxdiag to check your computer system go to the display settings and check if there are any installed driver.
