On the floorboard, in the box where your Battery resides. find the Negative Cable and make sure the other end opposite the battery connection, is securely & cleanly connected to a frame Ground. without a good solid Ground None of your electrical will function.

There are some wiring diagrams online though not easy to follow. The coil seems to be a self contained ignition coil and module that obtains the trigger pulse from a coil inside the flywheel. There seems little you can do other than ensure the ignition switch is working and actually connecting the ignition unit to the power source, the trigger coil has continuity and the ground and other connections are sound. does it get any power at all. check the main fuse located off the positive batery terminal. check all other fuses also.

If it is a pattern part (Not Genuine) it may not be made to the same tolerances. You could try lightly rubbing the outside of the condenser casing with some abrasive paper. It may also help to cool the condenser causing it to contract slightly.

I am an actual Tomos mechanic, and all of you guys are a bunch of shadetree troglodyte mechanics who think that mopeds are the same thing as motorcycles because you have never actually worked on one. A Tomos does not have "shift forks" "neutral" or "clutch cable" and the transmission is not built into the crankcase. A tomos has a 2 speed auto that is a separate unit from the motor itself. it shifts between 1st and second via a centrifugal clutch, so if your having a hard time shifting then you either need new clutch springs and or shim/replace the clutch stones. should only take an hour if you know what you are doing.
